I just finished school at Aveda Institute so what I have to say is reputable... dying your hair from dark brown to blonde is not an easy task and should definitely not be something you do on your own. GO TO A PROFFESSIONAL!!! Then they will determain if your hair will be able to "survive" the process. First, they will BLEACH the hair (which will most likely leave it brassy) Therefore they will have to TONE it next with a toner (this will get that brassiness out- leaving it very blonde) Lastly, if your looking for a certain color or colors, they will DYE it that single color you want or FOIL whatever number of colors you want on your hair. This process could take quite a while because your hair may need rest between these stages to stay healthy. So, just a forwarning, you may be stuck with a brassy head of hair or super blonde locks for up to a couple of weeks before you achieve the actual color you are looking for. But believe me, it is possible
