I'm assuming you're using Internet Explorer?
Well I suppose you could try using a different browser to the one she is using e.g. Firefox or Opera etc. which would most likely dispose of their cache files in a different way to IE? |

One approach:
Buy a USB flash drive (1 GB or 2 GB should do), installed Portable FireFox on the USB drive, and surf with Portable FireFox. Now all your history and cookies will be stored on your USB drive.
Another approach:
Change the password on your account and the Administrator account, enable password protection on the screen save, and disable automatic login. |

| Try deleting your temp. files. You can get to them from Start, Run... then type in %temp% and delete everything in there. Hopefully that will help you...Good Luck!! |

Do you have a history of internet porn use which has caused arguments in the past?
If this is the case, she could have installed an eyes program. |

I have never looked into this. I recall someone in the Desktop Support Department (at my place of work) telling me that the newer motherboard BIOSes can boot off a USB drive. With 1 GB, 2 GB, and 4 GB USB flash drives available, it should be possible. |

Yes it's possible to boot off a USB flash drive but as JinJin says your motherboard's BIOS needs to support this. The newer models tend to have this capability but older models may need to have the bios updated. You'd have to check bios manufacturer's website.
This site gives info on booting from a Flash Drive...

Beesh makes a good point. Your wife might have installed some 'keylogging' software on your PC if she is savvy enough.

You may need to check this. |

I'm just going to ramble-on roll with this one.. tossing-out all my first thoughts and options on this, and you decide if any of it fits you...
This little problem indicates a much greater problem within a problem...
Get your own PC... With a router you can run four computers on the Net...
If you are strapped for cash, the garage sales start soon... You sometimes can get a reasonable one for 20-bucks... You can even find good computers in the trash sometimes... You can tell friends that you are looking for a cheap computer...
My trick at garage sales is to find something I want, and no matter what price they have on it, I say, "will you take a couple dollars for the wrecked computer?".. and sometimes they say yes... There have been times I bought something for a dollar or two, that worked good, and was listed forsale at 50-bucks, just by using this little trick...
You can lock everyone out of your own computer, just with a password...
If someone is spying on you.. there's a crazy reason... Mr B has it right... Maybe it's time to dump her, pack up your stuff, and store your possessions in a mini-storage, and move on out of the "kindergarten bible school hospital"... Get out of a crazy house, where you have little to no rights... Recall that old song that goes, "just slip out the back Jack, drop off the key Lee, no need to to be coy Roy.. just set yourself freeee..." First time is scary... Second time is much easier... 50th time flows like a gallon of water down a hill.. like taking a dump... Takes a day, and it's all over with, and you've left hell's daughter behind you... Box only your own stuff, be an honest quiet gentleman about it, throughout the whole breakup, leaving no new cuts and scars, and for-sure label the boxes what's in them... The hardest part is to give her that last little hug, and saying, "I won't be returning"... but when you break that final embrace, it feels like a "ton of S***" just slipped off your back, and a hundred pounds of biting stinging pain just got out of your face...
Or you can set up your own account in her computer, and ask at major geeks and castle cops, if there is a way to prevent someone from enabling spyware programs from monitoring your computer activity in a secondary users account...
And Hey!.. if what you do is bratty and irresponsible childish, and you just can't be trusted, then you go figure it out... Which ever package you fit, and which ever solution you go for, make it a chunk of honest reality... |

portable firefox is the easiest solution (good one jin!) CCleaner is also a good program and can easily delete stored pages, cookies and browser history. Poof! Footprints gone. Go to your explorer properties and change the number of days to save visited pages to 0. Change the file size for temp files to a low number as well. Also, ensure it does not save data entered into forms. This should also help limit your footprint when .. These suggestions work for firefox or IE (but your better off with Firefox anyways!)
p.s. - You cannot install an OS with a flash drive, but you can boot off of one if your MOBO supports it.
on a side note, did you know you still need a floppy drive if you want to setup a RAID profile on your HD? Totally behind the times! |

Sounds like she may have installed a key logger hidden within the system. Had this problem a while ago when my younger sister mentioned something I'd written within my hotmail, which only I would know. However, I downloaded a programe called Spyware Doctor (PCtools.com), it found and deleted it for me.
You could try Privacy Guardian first though. I've just installed it as it's a free unlimited trial. Seems pretty good and very thorough at deleting all Internet tracks from the computer.
Your gf needs a good ticking off if you find something like this in there!
Hope you get it sorted!!
