I have a beautiful little 3 year old girl, who for the last few months has been telling me about the 'pretty white lady' in her doorway when she wakes up.
She never seems afraid of her, just says 'the pretty white lady was smiling at me when i woke up in the night' or 'I had a bad dream, but the lady made it go away' I think its a sweet little girl thing, to do with her imagination, or maybe that there is really a ghost there. it doesnt seem to worry her, so I dont want to take it away.
I was just wondering how many otther mum and dads on here have experiences of their little ones seeing ghosts?
I have been searching the web for someone to share this with. For the past 2 weeks, Ashlynn (my 2 year old baby girl) will be doing something - anything... just playing and all of a sudden she will freak out, start crying and run to me. She will keep telling me about the "people" that are scaring her. This has happened on multiple occasions and she has even told my husband and I exactly where they are and we had to tell them to go home and stop scaring Ashlynn. Sometimes I will see her with her hands over her face and she will be saying "go away people, go home, don't scare Ashlynn, don't scare mommy and daddy... and babies, too". Another incedent - a couple of weeks ago, Ashlynn was with my mom and my twin baby girls (Jaedynn & Tarynn - 1 year old) were playing in Ashlynn's room. I was listening to them laughing and playing while I was doing dishes, in the kithchen. All of a sudden - they both started screaming bloody murder. I ran to the hallway and they were both barreling out of her room, stumbling over one another and they couldn't get to me fast enough! They were both terrified by something and it took me a while to settle them back down. I also had a music box (well - a water globe thingee) of mine start playing music all by itself the other day. I was sitting only a few feet from it and I was the only one in the room. I know I might sound crazy, but something very strange is going on. Anyway, whatever it is... I can't explain it. All I know is that it is driving me nuts, because something is scaring my girls and I can't make it ok if I can't even see what they are afraid of. I can't make them understand that I won't let anything happen to them. I hate it when my kids are scared. Anyone have any insight??

This is very strange. My three year old daughter wakes up often screaming about the man in her bed room. I don't believe she is dreaming. She describes him and I can see her looking right at him. I don't let her watch scary or violent television, so I'm sure she's not making it up. She says he has a bloody knife. She says he is all black and she often sees him sitting on mommy's bed! I thought she might be developing some sort of mental disorder, but I'm glad to hear other mothers have had similar experiances.[/quote]

My parents always told me that when I was just barely old enough to talk they would find me in the living room behind a rocking chair in the middle of the night talking. They would ask..."Who are you talking to baby?" and I would always say "The People" and point to the window.
When i was about 4/5 years old , my parents had a big mirror in their bedroom. I often heard a sound , as if someone was rubbing it , wich most of the times announced my monkey friend crawling out of it , and asking me to bring my parents`tobacco. Of course this sounds really silly , but my parents took me to the docter because they were afraid there was something wrong with me. when i think back , now i`m 21 , is still recall it as something that has really happened. I think it has something to do with children , not bothered by the complexity of adult life , have more vivid dreams or imaginations than adults , because they dont have much else to worrie about. Then again , im not a psychiatrist.

Hi there my name is Mandy and I am from a Paranormal Forum
I dropped by the try to help answer this post.
Yes I do believe Children can see ghosts, As children, thier young minds are more prone to be able to see, sense and hear ghosts, than us logical adults,. Children are much more open minded, as they grow older some lose the ability and some develop it. This is nothing to worry about, I have never known any child to be affected in the long term, many just grow out of it and forget all about thier sightings.

The other day i was over at my boyfriends house and everybody was asleep but us. We are sitting in his room watching T.V. when we here his younger brother in the living room talking. We both looked at each other and thought who is he talking to? So we sneaked down the hall way and peeked into the living room to find him alone staring at nothing carrying on a conversation with him self. But it was only a one sided conversation. He say things like " o really?, Where?, No you go and get it." and then he'd be quite for a while and i guess wait for an answer. And the next day when we asked him about it he refused to tell us anything. Then the other night he woke up crying and i went in there and he was just staring at the wall, he wouldnt even look at me. so i left the room and came back in there a few minutes later to find him sitting on the floor with a blanket over his head kicking his feet. when he finally calmed down i asked him if he saw something, he replied no. i asked him can you tell me what you saw and he replied no he wont let me! i dont know what to do. im so scared.

I am visiting this website and after reading some of the content I wanted to share my story as well. I have a two-year old and sometimes she will (out of the blue) say "monters, ghosts"and she will have this certain frightened look on her face. Other times she will be very calm and say "did you see it?" or "see it mommy". How do I know whether she is seeing ghosts or just has a good imagination? It doesn't seem to be a problem so her father and I are not really worried, just a little curious.

there's got to be some validity to these "sightings", not only are a lot of people seeing them, but i myself have as a child, and i can still vividly remember this experience.
I was about 5 years old, and it was the night after our chimney fire, and i was afraid to go to sleep because i didn't know if i was going to be awoken by yelling again. the fire didn't do any damage, although it was quite a scare for a young boy. Anywho, that night, i was laying there, wide awake, and suddenly this faint glow slid over the foot of my bed and said to me in a soft voice, everything will be ok, go to sleep... then it faded away, and i felt safe enough to go to sleep, I though maybe i should have been afraid, but this figure was calm and caring. Btw, i did not have any windows in my room at the time, so there wasn't any concern of light getting in.
About 2 weeks later, my parents had been re-wireing the house, and our light downstairs kept becoming unscrewed, well, it took us a month to figure it out, but the wiring that went to that light was frayed in a spot we didn't see, after it was fixed, the light bulb hadn't been unscrewed again.
shortly more than a year later, my dad woke up in middle of the night to see this light white bow-tie figure dancing through the air in their bedroom. after a minute or so, a half moon figure passed in the same direction, not more than 30 seconds after a shoe shaped light danced into the living room following the other shapes, Dad got out of bed, and looked into the living room, to see the shapes melding together and forming the visade of a person, well, he was pretty freaked out about it, and went back to sleep lol.
We think if this was a spirit, it was of the man who died in our house 10 years before we bought it, he was a bachelor, but he loved children and like d to help others out. the only thing we've heard from him since was footprints up in the attic, which since we have turned into my bedroom, and haven't heard hide nor hair of him since.
