hi everyone
I hate my body so much because of my stretch marks -i know EXACTLY how you're all feeling. They really have ruined my life.I have them ALL OVER ME Soooooooooo unfair
I hate the ones on my stomach the most.I dont have kids ,just bloody unlucky.Im having an abdominoplasty next week.I know its drastic but Ive wanted one for ages.I know I will have a big scar but it will be worth it (although Ive had to take out 2 loans to pay for it-but hey)
I also have them on my arms so I know how self conscious it makes you.
Idid jne wu for 3weeks but noticed absolutely nothing.I shouldve stuck to it for longer I guess but it realy is quite knackering!
I reckon us guys are the only people to dread the summer- depressing isnt it?
I am super white, meaning I have had very very littel sun exposure ... yes due mostly to the fact that I never expose myself if the sun, due to the stretchmarks.. anyhow, I am going traveling this summer and even though i dont plan on being naked very often, I'd like to get a some color so that I don't burn horribly the first time I spend all day running around in a tank top.... I know that people with naturally dark skin say that their marks are more noticable... but for people that start out plae and then tan OVER the marks, does anyone know the results? Do they tan somewhat even or do they stay very white and silvery??? Does it help or hurt???
Hi,
Does anyone know of any celebs that have stretchmarks?
I read that kate beckinsale and kate winslet has them as does demi moore and then i came across a website, just type in 'skinnies 2004 stretchmarks' and have a look!
A.B. Replies: The research is in. Pardon me while I deal with the shock.
In a place where money can buy anything--including more money--skin doctors here in Hollywood insist that nothing can completely erase stretch marks. Nothing. Not harp-seal placentas, not Kabbalah, not Kérastase shampoo, not a night with Colin Farrell.
Let's savor this moment a little longer. Once a star's chamois-smooth skin has widened beyond its contractual obligations, the lower layers of her derma explode in tiny tantrums of outrage, and up come the perpetual crinkle-paper inscriptions of doom. It works just like it does here on Earth.
So, as soon as the stick turns blue, the star usually gets right to work on preventative measures. She gets herself to the spa, or on the phone with her publicist, who tries to scare up some free moisturizers. Doctors do say microdermabrasion--Angeleno for "scrubbing"--and some creams can enhance the belly's elasticity enough to give it more of a fighting chance against scarring.
Examples: Recently preggers Gwyneth Paltrow is a reported client of the Elemis Day Spa in London. The Japanese camellia oil there is rumored to prevent stretch marks. So is Crème de la Mer's Body Serum, but it goes for $150 at Neiman's. So, you can either avoid stretch marks or send your unborn to college.
Make no mistake. Pregnant celebrities pray feverishly to their gauzy, Swarovski-crystal-encrusted gods that these skin treatments work. Once stretch marks appear, they usually stay; they're family now. Well, the stretch marks and those squalling proto-princess larva babies of theirs.
Supermodel Niki Taylor has twins, and she claims to have a stretch mark or two.
"I did the whole oil and lotion thing to try to keep [the stretch marks] off, but I just got too big," Taylor told People in 1997. She even tried laser surgery, a popular postpartum strategy, but said the procedure made the marks worse.
The only other alternative: Call someone like surgeon-to-the-stars Dr. George Orloff, drop about $8,000 and have your entire thorax recarved.
"In Hollywood, a lot of women, after pregnancy, want a mini tummy tuck," Orloff tells this B!tch. "They have stretch marks around their breasts and belly area, and the tuck gets a lot of that skin removed--cutting out the stretch marks."
All that said: If you believe what big actresses like Reese Witherspoon and Kate Winslet say (do you eat soap, too?), then there are plenty of A-listers with all kinds of untouched birthing scars.
"I have cellulite, I have stretch marks," Witherspoon told the Evening Standard earlier this year. "My breasts are not what they were before I breastfed two children. If I ever have to do a bikini scene, it will become a caftan scene."
Kate Beckinsale has slammed claims she has had cosmetic surgery. .
The stunning British actress laughed off reports she's had breast implants and Botox injections since moving to America. .
The 'Pearl Harbor' star was recently given the title of the "ugliest breasts in Hollywood" because of stretch marks on her chest, but she says the lines are a result of having a baby and not a boob job.
The mum-of-one said: "A friend of mine kindly sent me those cuttings. But I've not had a breast job. The moment those rumours started was when people saw my stretch marks.
"I don't know how people think you can go from eight-and-a-half stone to over 12 stone when you're pregnant and not get them. I've got stretch marks everywhere.
Check out pictures on 'Awful plastic surgery:the ugliest breasts in hollywood', (which they are so not by the way!) personally i love kate beckinsale and i think shes even more fabulous now because shes goes natural and isnt ashamed one bit which is great because if she doesnt care then why on earth should anyone else.
(p.s these arent supposed to be mean or make us feel fine with our marks but at least were not alone!)

I saw pics of Scarlett Johansson with thin stretchmarks on her breasts.
Hello,
Just a new bit of research i found. This company works with injectable collagen. They take your own cells, make collagen for you, and you can have it injected into your lips or whatever....and it's your own. (no, I do not get collagen injections!).
Scientists discover ultimate ‘cure-all’
By A Correspondent
A TREATMENT for balding men, women with stretchmarks and anyone who has gum disease may have been discovered by scientists. As cure-alls go, an injection of fibroblasts may be the ultimate.
The new technology is being developing by Isolagen, a Texas-based biotech company, and 50 patients are to undergo clincial trials in London.
Fibroblasts are tiny cells that control levels of the proteins collagen and elastin, which are found in skin, bones and other tissue. To treat burns, the scientists take cells from an undamaged area, extract the fibroblasts and multiply them in the laboratory before injecting them back into the patient.
Mark Lewis, of University College London, said that the cells were marvellous at knowing what to do in the body.
Fibroblasts have been used for several years to rejuvenate faces and injecting them into areas affected by stretch marks has, in some cases, made them disappear completely.

I have heard of some people say that the tanning makes their marks worse but others who said tanning made their marks better! So i suppose it depends on your skin type! sorry i dont have a more definate answer for that one! Anyone else?
Im going to try some fake tan on my marks this summer as ive heard this can be a good camouflage! Has anyone tried this?
Alice, hi! this sounds really promising!! Makes good sense too! Its good to hear some scientists are thinking of us! And maybe making progress, lets hope its as good as it claims and available to us all!
I havnt heard of this before but am going to look into it now !

Hi Oak Bark,
I have really bad stretch marks on my stomach, top of legs and some on my breasts too, most of these were cause by pregnancy, but because of recent weight loss and subsequent gain, (through illness) they have got even worse on my legs. In response to your question above, I am really pale too, and don't tan easily at all. I have tested, exposing my marks to the sun in hope that it would help, but unfortunately it just turned them a really angry bright red colour I would suggest if you are planning to expose them to the sun, you do it very carefully, as they are afterall damaged skin.
I have looked into everything, and would go to any extreme to fix my ugly stretch marks.
I have just convinced my doctor to refer me to a dermatologist though, so that I can try and stop any further SM, and also to see if there is anything in the world of medical science that can be done to help me.
If I find out anything of interest I will let you all know

Would appreciate it as my stretch marks are really getting me down an will try anything. Also could anyone who is using it give me updates on how its working. thanks x
Well ive been dry brushing my skin since last posted and have to say im really impressed with results! The bloddy stretch marks are still there but what i have noticed is new hairs growing(on my marks where there was no hair before)so i think my scarred skin is coming back to life?? and what i figured (could be wrong here) is that if new hairs are growing does this mean new skin will too? Because i dont think that hair grows on scarred skin?
Anyway hope that dosnt sound too wierd and would appreciate any ideas on this etc!
Very hungover at the moment so hope it makes sense! lol

Hi everyone,
I have stretchmarks on my arms, legs and stomach as a result of putting on weight a few years ago. now i have lost the weight, i want to get rid of these marks, especially on my arms as i still feel really uncomfortable and self concious when i'm out anywhere. I have tried creams but never got any good results. I was thinking of laser surgery for the ones of my arms - has anybody had this done and does it work?? The marks arn't red - they are just like scars (where the skin is not smooth). i have just read about body brushing - would you recommend this? is the brush just like the body back brush?? Can i buy one from boots chemist does anybody know? I went on the two links which are mentioned but couldn't see a picture of one.
