hi Rosie, glad to c your post. i can't get through to the thread anymore Sad but anyway hope it'll get on it's feet soon. i'm doing the jean wu treatment every 3 days at the moment. i was using jojoba oil and cocoa butter but the combination lasted 3 days as the oil which i got is now out of stock....my luck! i got another oil instead with PurCellin oil as a carrier oil...it's also got Vitamin A and E.

However i think i saw some results. i been doing the massage consistently for almost 2 weeks now!

Hi so happy that you found something that works for you!Was it the special stretch marks cream with cocoa butter that you used or the the one in a tub?

Hi missdanni!
What your doing sounds similar to me,but have only done 2 jean wu massages since deciding to start it up again with the rosehip/jojoba method! No more improvements yet but hopefully soon!! Although i did notice a change in my marks one morning,a change for the better as they appeared less visable(but only in the light i was in at the time)...anyway that is something i hadnt noticed before so ill keep it up!
The jean wu can get so boring and tiresome...but do find it quite theraputic in some ways! And i am going to make sure i am more dedicated to it this time!!
Good luck,keep us posted!

I'm using Stretch Away by Skin Doctors -- only about a week in now and no major results yet, although the skin does seem smoother in general. I've been using a very vigorous massage to rub it in to the affected area as I'm told (by doctors) that improving circulation in a crucial part in promoting skin regeneration and thus improvement of the marks!

I've heard dermabrasion works wonders on improving marks old and new. I was wondering whether the L'Oreal Dermabrasion kit you can find in the shops is any good for this purpose -- it's a little pricey so I'd like to know if it's worth the investment! xox

Im also using palmers cocoa butter, but i was told by a friend to try a gylocic acid peel and after looking around i managed to get a home kit from a website : skin wizard and the good thing about it is it not costly depending on what percentage u use it comes in 30/40/50 % the highest being the strongest. Im waiting for it to arrive but when it does i will keep u posted Smile

hi
i was just examining my marks this morning...not a very nice scenario but at least i noticed that the ones on my marks are improving...the rest not so much yet. the thing is i start the massage always from the arms and since it gets tiring i don't manage to do it so well on the other parts. my plan is to start from another spot once i c considerable improvement in my arm section.

btw i am not using the st ives apricot scrub...i'm using olive oil + sugar instead and i think i prefer it because it's less likely i run out of that. otherwise i'm being quite faithful to the jean wu massage.

i got a few assignments at the moment so it'll be difficult to post so often. xxxgood luck everyone

I was wondering what happened to the old thread! I think it eventually got erased b/c of the huge amount of posts it was receiving.

Lately, I've been putting baby oil, Camelia oil and any kind of moisturizer on my stretch marks. It just makes me feel better although I don't think it will help. And for a while I was putting Epidermx on them but found it to be useless. Its works better on the face--and a much stronger microdermbrasion would be needed to work on stretch marks.

I did some research and there was an article that said that TCA (a strong microdermbrasion) is found to be highly effective on stretch marks, as well as the latest on a laser treatment called Blue Dye Laser (i forgot the correct name) I was excited to read this until it said that it should not be tried on African American skin due to hyperpigmentation. To be honest I really don't care. Anything is better than having these stretch marks--and if I was to have hyperpigmentation its not like I show my arms anyway! When I get my loan money I might try laser treatment. I am honestly getting sick of having these stretch marks ruin my life. I don't understand why I have to have them on my arms. I look at ppl around me and don't seem to notice anyone to have them on their shoulders or arms--its so freakin odd.

And it is completely ruining my sex life. It really bothers me when my boyfriend wants to see me in lingerie (he doesn't know about the stretch marks on my arms) I just roll my eyes b/c I'd rather die than let him see how ugly and unattrative they are. To be honest if I were to ever get married it would really be a serious problem. I know I won't ever want to get naked in front of my husband--or want to do romantic things like take a bath or shower with him or get topless so he can give me a back massage.

I talk to my mother about it and she is very unsympathetic. She'll say ,"there are people with no arms and no legs. and you're complaining about stretch marks. all women have them." Yes, I understand that but that doesn't make it any less of a problem for me. There are times where I want to just yell at her and tell her i hate her. I wish she would understand how stretch marks can really affect your social life, sex life and every other aspect. Its more than just being superficial. She doesn't know that I'm suffering. Because she didn't have them like I did when she was my age. She probably could get naked in front of her lover and not worry about nasty scars all over her body. I guess things like that never cross her mind.

Hi Brown eyes!
Glad u managed to find this new thread!
I can so totally relate to every word you say and i can honestly understand how you are feeling! These marks have totally ruined me as a person, and my life!
This isnt a question of being vain,i am not nor have i ever been, sometimes i dont think people realise the severity of stretch marks!I mean if you were say for example your face was scarred people would be much more understanding of the psychological damage this would do to someone,i am not trying to say my situation or stretch marks are worse than anybody elses,i know that there are people suffering with terrible diseases and obviously i would rather have these marks than have to suffer with a terminal disease but i think more understanding is needed when it comes to these bloddy marks! If someone was scarred by some other means im sure that they would be given understanding, its a shame your mother cannot give this to you!
Its so annoying as it seems however much money you have to your name there is nothing definate that can rid them!
And boyfriends,i find it so hard to relax around men,i mean its fine when im out and nothing more than kissing is possible, but then as soon as the act approaches lol...i tense up and oh god im not going into that one,im sure you all understand where im going! i get so fed up with it!

Anyway sorry had to vent my frustrations...
Im still using the rosehip/jojoba and im dissapointed as i was expecting the silvery colour to at least have faded by now..
I did see a slight improvement but that was the light i was in at the time i think,im going to keep it up though for at least three months and see how i feel about it then!
Good luck to you all!!
xx

hi all
i am very peeved that the other thread got deleted. it had so much information on there, tips as well as stuff that didn't work. badly done! moving on, i am starting rosehip/jojoba oil 3 times (or 2 if im stressed of my nutter) and Vitimin A oil on the other. I will let you guys know. Also i stopped drinking diet coke, which lets face it, i did in huge amounts, which i believe depleted me of necessary water. i will let you guys know how it goes. good luck everyone else.

ps. how much oil is everyone else using? i think i am using too much, how long does it take to sink in for you guys etc.

I just found this site and was just curious if anyone has tried lasers for their stretch marks? I have had mine for 16 years on my stomach from pregnancy. I have tried so many creams, no luck. I am starting my 1st treatment next week they are using a V-Beam and Cooltouch laser. Since my marks are old I will need 4 to 6 treatments. No guarantee. I was told they will not get rid of them completely but could fade them. Just wondering if anyone has tried this? Treatments are spaced 4 to 6 weeks apart. I was told may not see any improvement until 3rd treatment.

You are so right about facial scars. Honestly, surgery for stretch marks should be covered or partially covered under insurance. Because for people who have them severely in inconvienient places like the arms or legs--it sucks to have to cover up and be hot ALL FREAKIN SUMMER due to the scars because that is exactly what they are. I know there are some of you out there that probably have to wear clothing in summer that is more suited for Fall due to stretch marks.

I am thankful that I can at least wear shorts and mini skirts. Thank god for that or i'd just be a hermet and stay in all summer long. Although, it sucks because whenever I go shopping for a shirt everything is shortsleeves. Its not the designers fault unfortunate ppl like me have scars on their arms Sad But it really depresses me. I have to stock up on really sexy shirts during the Fall and mix them up with a pair of shorts or cute mini skirts. Although, I am starting to think more positive b/c I am going to save up my money for Relume, and try to erase these suckers for good.

Laser surgery--I've been reading about this 'supposedly' breakthrough in laser sugery for stretch marks called Relume. You should defintely ask your doctor about that. I've been reading about this, and although I am very vulnerable to believe anything it is still worth a try. I am going to start saving my money up to have this procedure done. I went to my local news station site and could not find any information about it. All their info regarding stretch marks were the same run of the mill,"nothing can get rid of stretch marks. try cocoa butter to fade blah blah cheesecakes." Its so depressing.

I am just sick of rubbing lotions on my body. My sister has them on her stomach from having a baby, and she used cocoa butter religiously everyday while she was pregnant (before she got the stretchmarks) and still got them. I think that if you're prone to get stretch marks you're just gonna get them regardless of waht you put on your skin. Sorry if this depresses some of you but its true. All the talk about drinking plenty of water and exercise to prevent them is not realistic. Growing up, you don't think about stuff like that and once you get them it is a total surprise. There are people out there who are way bigger than me and don't take care of their bodies and don't have any stretch marks. Their skin is strong and has a lot of elasticity. [/quote]

Yeah wtf happened to the other threads? that stinks. we need our own website/board so things dont get deleted and screwed. THis is probably my third or fourth week with the combination of jojoba, rosehip, vit E and coco butter routine. I exfoliate almost daily and also do dome dry brushing. My skin is really soft, but i dont think ive seen any improvement. I have some red marks on my boobs that I was hoping would fade to white. They seem to be sticking around. do you think i can get rid of them completely?? arent they only removable when they are in their red stage? damn it.

does anyone have the coco butter stick?? if not, look for it, it is very cheap and an easy way to carry around some of your treatment... its like an oversized chapstick looking thing... anyhow, i store one at my boyfriends and one in my car, so i can always lather up when i have some time or take a shower.

Ive added MSM and Vit C w/ rosehip supplements to my routine. hopefully.....
