Hi,
We've been to Malta twice, in 1999 and 2000. In summer it is very hot, especially if the wind is blowing from the South bringing the heat froom the Sahara. Temperatures of 120F are common. There isnt an awful lot todo there for adults let alone kids. Its quite nice and safe and the locals are friendly and you can go all over the island on the buses for less than £1.
Melliha is nice with a beautiful beach and Valleta the main town is worth a visit but forget Gozo theres nothing there and the locals are not friendly.
Malta is good for a week but dont go for much longer, you will be bored!
Regards,
