well it appears that many of you will or have had your daughters ears pierced but will you allow it for your sons and if so at what age.

As with any daughters I may have I will allow any child I have to pierce their ear/ears when ever I feel they are ready...it will totally depend on each child.

If my child wants to have his ears pierced when he is 8 ro 10 and I think he is ready then he can go for it...I don't think it's fair of me to say no to him cuz he is a boy.

I had my son's ears pierced on his fourth birthday. He considered it the greatest present ever. He is now nine years old and has worn earrings continuously, day and night, ever since his ears were pierced. He is the only boy in his class with both ears pierced, but no one makes an issue about it. It might have been different if he suddenly came into school wearing earrings, but since he was wearing earrings when he started kindergarten everyone just accepted the fact that his ears are pierced and he wears earrings.

We are expecting our third child in September, no matter whether we have a girl or boy, the child will have his or her ears pierced when they ask for them and we are happy that they can take care of their pierced ears. My son, daughter, husband and of course myself all have our ears pierced and we will be delighted if the latest addition to the family wants theirs piercing when he or she is old enough. I think 5 or 6 years old is a minimum age.

All 5 of our kids (3 girls / 2 boys) had their ears pierced as babies and have never had any problems worth mentioning. In fact, all except the youngest (3 year old daughter) have gone on to have additional piercings carried out on their own request as they got older.

My son had his ear pierced when he was 7 . He was the only boy in the class to have his ear pierced. After 1 week the headteacher asked me to remove my son's earing as he thought it was inappropriate to wear.

My son wants his second ear pierced. I think the summer holidays will be the best time to do it. I want to buy him diamond studs. He doesn't wear his earring to school anymore but when he comes home I insert a golden ball into his left ear.I have my nose pierced. My husband doesn't mind as he wears diamond studs in his ears to work anyway. We usually exchange earrings every day as we share them.

My son had his ears pierced in Peter Jones. The woman was shocked when I asked for his ears to be pierced, the woman then inserted Diamond studs into his ears. This was done at the age of six. Now he is 14 and he wears the earrings on and off. To school he takes them off but on the way home they are sprinkling in his ears. Many girls like him and his earrings just make him look perfect with a girl. One girl bought him golden balls and inserted them into his ears.

It's nice for boys to pierce their ears, isn't it?

My son asked me if he could have his ears pierced. I told him that I'll see. Should I let him or not. He is 14 years old and I think he is mateur enough for earrings. All it is,is two holes in each ear. I gave him some money and he came home with diamond studs in his ears.

I am in favour of earrings for girls and boys however I did have my daughter or sons ears pierced as babies. My daughter had hers pierced for the first time age 7 and for the 2nd time age 12, her choice. My son who is 16 does not have his ears pierced despite me suggesting it to him several times. My husband has had his left ear pierced since being a teenager but last year when my daughter had her 2nd set done I persuaded him to have his right ear pierced while we were in the shop. He was very reluctatnt but he gave into pressure coming from me, my daughter and the shop assistant doing the piercing.

I like that he was encouraged. I wish someone would encourage me to have both ears pierced.]
