Fashion followers

Hello everyone,

I'm a politics and sociology student writing an essay on why individuals follow fashion. There's plenty of weird and wonderful explanatory theories out there but none of them seem to have the whole picture.

I was hoping people might be able to help me out. Why do you follow fashion?
