I'm not having a go - but how (and why) do women find and go out with these people??? Is it a fear of being alone or something? I just don't understand...

I know it must be very hard for you to believe this right now, but we're not all like that.
I follow a strict morral of equality for everything. No scrounging off each other. Total honesty and comumication are the key elements, I believe.

Not all men are like this it's just unfortunate that we have to find out the hard way. There are a lot of good men out there and i've found one after being cheated on several times and beaten by my ex husband. My husband now is an absolute diamond and i wouldn't swap him for the world. Don't lose faith hun, there is one out there for you who will treat you the way you deserve.

People are people regardless of gender..... I could never say I hate men and trust me I've met some bow-wows in my time. In saying that some women have been complete fukk-ups as well.

I know some beautiful kind hearted men and women

I think it's a cosmic joke. Men & women just don't seem compatible so often, yet we yearn for each other so much. Someone somewhere is having a laugh at us...

Relationships with those dynamics are usually co-dependant ones.

Each person 'feeds' from the other in destructive ways.

The aggressive partner is usually very insecure, has feelings of low self worth and often doesn't really care about the person they're with, they're just a convenience to them, an easy target to take out their frustrations on.

The abused partner usually spends lots of time alone and constantly seeks acceptance from their abusive partner which in turn is seen as "irritating"

Often, (because they don't get the attention they seek), they will find ways to "wind up" their abusive partner as any attention is better than none at all.

It's a vicious circle really and one that takes a hell of a lot of effort to break.

May I point out that domestic violence and abusive relationships aren't just confined to male to female abuse, there are many relationships where the female is abusive towards a man and has the advantage as men aren't supposed to hit women.
