There are no "pill free" days on Cerazette. I was on Cerazette for 4 years before coming off to have a baby and am back on again now that my baby has been born. I've never gotten a period on Cerazette only some slight spotting after the first month. Cerazette tricks your body into thinking it's pregnant so you don't ovulate and alot of women don't get their period. Did your doctor not go over what to expect when he/she prescribed Cerazette for you?

I have been taking Cerazette for 2 years now and have no bleeding at all which is fantastic as I love the fact that I do not have my life interrupted by bleeding just when I want to go swimming or on holiday! I was put on it as I used to suffer from terrible mouth ulcers due to my hormones going funny with age. It has completely stopped them. It has been a God send as trying to eat with the nasty blighters was tremendously painful, irritating and I felt down all the time from lack of nutrition. I came off cerazette for a few months to allow my body to rest from it and started my periods the next month. I don't think there is any risk regarding conceiving especially if you are a healthy person eating all the right things and do not have an underlying illness.
i have been on cerazette for nearly two months now and i hate it. i had a period the first week i took the first pill and nothing since, i feel like i am pregnant which is making me paranoid and depressed as i cannot afford to be pregnant as i am a university student. i am constantly bloated, gaining weight, don't bleed and am getting bigger boobs, i was already a size F before taking this and did not want to get any bigger. Some people seem to be happy on this pill but i don't see how. with all these symptoms i am misserable.
Has anyone had similar symptons and tried something new which they are happy with???????
Hi I am the same, took the first pack of cerazette, had a period, Now nearly at the end of the 2nd pack, & have not had a period yet. Getting the same symptoms, more weight, eating more, more bloatiness. My partner & I are ultra carefull in me not getting pregnant as it is dangerous for me to get pregnant due to disability. I was on Micronor before hand, & had periods regular with that. Am fed of feeling like this, & am going to the drs soon, to ask if I could retake micronor.

Hi ladies
I’m fairly new to this site and am SO glad I stumbled on it after doing some searches on google (and thanks to Chloe123 for pointing me in the right direction of this forum.)
It is SUCH a relief to realise that I’m not alone (and have been suffering.)
Depression & spots:
I have to say I wouldn’t recommend cerazette to anyone. My experience of it has been awful and since coming off it (came off Sunday April 15th) I’ve realised just how awful I felt on it. I was SEVERLY depressed and my acne made me feel physically repulsed when I looked in the mirror. I had what I can only call ‘angry’ spots, which would linger for days, eventually erupt and then I would have horrible scabs (sorry to be so descriptive!).
Skin:
My skin has VASTLY improved since coming off cerazette, I can now look in the mirror and smile back at myself and am still amazed that I don’t have to approach my skin regime with a ‘where shall I start today’ attitude. I have gone back to using foundation sparingly, which is a fabulous feeling.
Depression:
My depression made me feel like there was nothing to get up for and sex drive? What sex drive?! As others have said, no wonder there’s no chance of getting pregnant on this pill (by accident) as you’re physically repulsed by yourself let alone what your partner thinks of you.
No periods:
Initially not having a period was bliss, but long term no thanks, I want to feel 'womanly', not like i've already hit the menopause! Also, our biggest indication of being pregnant is the disappearance of a period so how the hell are we meant to know where we are if are periods completely evaporate! Ridiculous.
Related forums:
I am SO angry that this pill is available, I think it should be pulled. Just look at the sheer amount of posts on this subject, it’s frightening. I’ve read the full 16 pages of comments. One of the girls also recommended which doubly proves how awful this pill is as the comments on those forums mirror the ones found on this one.
Reflexology:
There is light at the end of the tunnel, I haven’t had a period yet but then it’s only been 12 days since I came off cerazette. One of the girls on this forum suggested reflexology to ‘re-start’ your period and I would certainly consider that if mine didn’t start after say 4 wks. Alternative therapies are usually £30 for a session and I think that’s a small price to pay for sanity! You can usually find therapists in cities, so just type in ‘reflexology’ into yell.com or google and your city and I’m sure tons will pop up.
Working out your ovulation (most likely time to conceive):
Have also stumbled on ‘http://www.mymonthlycycles.com/’ which plots your most fertile times! I would also suggest keeping your own diary to see how reliable it is but one of my friends, (who is trying to conceive), says it’s been 100% accurate over her last three periods re dates.
Wellwoman:
Have also seen ‘wellwoman’ tablets suggested by one girlie, but as with all, read info carefully. I typed ‘wellwoman’ into google and found a supplier which said the following about the formula:
‘Always read the product directions before use. Do not exceed the recommended intake. As with other food supplements seek professional advice before using if you suffer from food allergies, and consult your doctor or pharmacist if your have an underlying medical condition (e.g. diabetes, epilepsy, hyperthyroidism), or if on medication. Vitamin supplements are not intended to treat or prevent any disease.’
Realise this is a long message so will let you go now!
Just wanted to say what a bl**dy great forum this is and huge thanks to all for their real-life stories.
Good luck to all trying to conceive and try not to over-stress or panic, (easier said than done I know)
Love Em xxx
Hi, My Dr did'nt reccommed the coil, but im fed up of either having heavy periods or no periods at all with the mini pill. I was going to have the implant, but my friend said, it put a lot of weight on her friends.
What us women have to go through. Im coming back as a man next time. lol.

Hi, thought i'd add my comments on this pill.
i took it for 5 months whilst i was travelling and couldn't be bothered with periods (i had no bleeding at all from taking the first tablet), put some weight on with it but nothing too bad (just over half a stone).
The worst thing was coming off, stopped taking the pill jan 07 and didn't get a period until august 07!!! since then they've been 4 weeks, 5 weeks or sometimes 6 weeks apart and even then they are hardly worth bothering with! Before i started on this pill i was on every 4 weeks without fail so am now concerned what taking this pill has done to my potential long term fertility (i'm late 30's!).
hello, i thought i would add my experience from this pill too. i was on dianette for about 7 years and when i went to get another prescription the nurse asked me if i ever had visually impaired migranes, i said yes occassionally as i have suffered with them since i was a child, but only have had them very rarely in the last few years . bearing in mind, my own doctor knew i get them and he was the one who prescribed me dianette coz i suffer with bad skin. dianette suited me just fine, continued having monthly periods and my skin was excellent. anyway the nurse said there is no way i should be on dianette if i get migranes, and refused to give me another prescription. she gave me cerazette. i started it in may and only took two months worth. although i had normal periods for the 2 months i was on it, i had a constant headache every single day, my skin and hair was really greasy. i went back to my doc as i couldnt put up with the headaches and he said he didnt think it was related to the pill, but the only way to tell would be to come off it for a couple of weeks, and if it was the pill, then to go back and get a different one. the day after i stopped taking cerazette, my headaches dissapeared, so i know it was that. i went back to see the doc, had to see a different one as i made up my mind i was not having cerazette again and she was not that helpful. she kept trying to get me to have the coil.. something i am not doing and i kept telling her that but she still gave me info on it anyway. she also said about the injection, but i am not very good with needles so dont really think i would go to have it. she said i am very limited in what i can have as i cant have the combined pill. she has given me another prescription for norethisterone but from what she told me it has similar side effects to cerazette. has anyone been on this one who could offer their experiences? im seriously considering giving up with the pill and just using condoms as i have felt so much better these last 3 weeks having not taken the pill. mind you i have only just got my period, so has been a stressful 3 weeks worrying i was pregnant! i personally dont want to stop having periods altogether as i do think its healthy to have them and lets me know everything is 'working'. the things we women have to go through!! (p.s sorry its a long one!)

Hi, I've read loads of previous posts, concentrating on 'the bleeders', sorry ladies but if I don't laugh - i'll cry!
Just started my 4th 'card' of Cerazette and for card 1,2 and this current one I've had a long bleed, about 10/12 days. Missed one last 'card/month' but it returned! They are getting lighter, but not shorter. I'm really just wanting a follow-up from those that stuck it out for 6 months to see if things got better? Im hoping so...
However, last card/month, the one i didn't bleed, I was pretty chilled out, home from Uni etc but this time I started a summer job which stressed/worried me (along with the IBS but thats for another day) and Ive found the longer I continue to stress, the longer the bleed keeps lasting, like its following my, Cerazette-induced, mood... Anyone else found this or am I being silly?

Hey, I'm not sure what to do next, I wont stop bleeding. Here is my short history.....
Depo injection - 3 years - no bleeding, TERRIBLE mood swings!
Implant - 1.5 years - no bleeding, all good, until one day I started bleeding and didnt stop. THREE MONTHS later of continuous bleeding I gave up and had it removed.
Cerazette - 4 years - no bleeding most months, or just a light 3-day bleed... until now!! I have been bleeding moderately for 12 days now. Is this like the implant all over again!? Im wondering if I should have a break for a few weeks? Any ideas?
Also, I just realised I had an upset stomach about a month ago and didn't use condoms as an extra precaution. The stomach thing was in the morning and I take my pill at 6pm, so I imagine it was ok. Should I do a pregnancy test or does the current bleeding rule that out??
Thanks, I really need to hear a voice of experience right now.

i had 2 depo jags, bled for 13 weeks of the 22,doctor gave me noriesterone, just to clarify to the lady its not a contraceptive on its own,its just to help supress the oestrogen and stop the bleeding,it didnt!just made me ill,was on celeste with no probs but doc had other ideas, gave me cerazette, been bleeding for a week now and no signs of stopping!think im gonna stop, after reading 58 pages of mostly negative comment,id rather run a higher risk of heart attack than go through a repeat of last summer!also i suffer from depression anyway and dont want to risk making it worse!

I have been on Cerazette for over 2 years now and I hate it!
I was on Cilest for 8 years previous to that and never had a problem with it.
I moved and signed up to a new doctor who told me because of my age, (!!) being overweight and having high blood pressure, I needed to change my pill.
I moved again and still stayed on Cerazette, but the longer I have been on it, the worse it has got. I have periods whenever they feel like appearing and then they last for about 2-3 weeks at a time.
I keep telling my doctor that I don't like it and all he says is that it's the most suitable pill for me!!!
I'm getting married next year and we'll hopefully be trying for a baby, so roll on then as I can't wait to get off this horrible pill !!!

Im so glad to have found this page. Here i get to see how other women on this pill are feeling.
I've been on cerazzete for 21 days so far and i begun to notice that my boobs were really tender...begun wondering what was up....getting paranoid that I could be pregnant but then that cant happen cause I have been dilligent with my pill.
I think my breasts are getting bigger as my bra feels tighter and I feel heavier when exercising. I dont want to gain any weight but since i started the pill I am constantly hungry... I crave anything starch.. i seem to have gone on a diet of bread and mashed potatoes, something I havent done for about 10 months.
I may have to go off this pill and find another method of contraception as for me, the positives do not outweight the negatives. I have been working hard to get my weight down and I see it all going to waste right before my eyes.
Is there anyone who has been on the pill for a long time who hasnt put on weight or had their boobs grow bigger. Please help.
