Hi Ezra
I was an RN in a maternity unit at the time, therefore circumcisions were performed a couple of days after delivery. I would have liked to drag the parents into the room to watch while it was being performed. I don't remember anyone ever giving their reason for having their child circumcised other than 'they should look like thier father'
It is a procedure that is becoming less and less common here and is frowned upon by many in the medical profession. However we are a society of mixed cultures and some will never be disuaded to leave their babies penises well alone.
As for the sex thing I can honestly say I have never noticed the slightest bit of difference between them being cut/uncut. Nor have they seemed to enjoy the sex more/or less....so from my perspective it doesn't really matter.
If men want to be circumcised then fine but I think it should be left till they can make the decision for themselves. |

How many people do you think are having their boys cut? Seems sick to do to a child.
Why don't the parents watch? That's pathetic.
You really can't feel a difference during sex? Not AT ALL? That's interesting. You honestly don't have a preference either way? I'm grown, I can take it . |

No truly, I'm not trying to be kind. It is not something that has ever made a difference in any aspect of sex. Others may tell you different but I can only speak for myself.
I checked the statistics for babies who were being cut in Australia it seems to be averaging around 16000 per year (babies under 6 months) which is much higher than I thought it would be...the current yearly birth rate is a bit over 250,000 I believe!
As for the excuse of cicumcision for the cleanliness I really find that a bit silly...I mean womens genitals are all folds and tucks but we dont lop the labia off so we are cleaner (ok some places do but it is being slowly eradicated)
Some cultures like the Jewish one do witness the circumcision of their babies...I can't say I know much about it except that it is a pretty big thing and a celebration is held...if you see vino around she is jewish and will be happy to fill you in on the ins and outs of her culture. |

I said I know about Judaism, and I know why those barbarians inflict circumcision on their children. There are no SCIENTIFIC, MEDICAL reasons to do it, so RELIGIOUS ones are even more ridiculous. It is part of a "covenant" between God and (the "first Jew") Abraham. Abraham at 99 years old circumcised himself upon "God"'s instruction, and was told to do the boys, too. On the eighth day of life. The ceremony is known as a Bris (Brit Milah) and is traditionally performed by a Mohel (pronounced moy-el).
It is not acceptable, and the law should step in and prevent it. Muslims too practice circumcision, but for reasons even most of them fail to know. It is disgusting.
People cannot do to their children what they like in the name of their religion. Political-correctness gone mad. There will be no progress until people are commended for pointing out that 2+2=4. |

Nah I ain't, that's why I've been wondering if I should get circumcised. What do you think?
This forum is much slower than I thought it would be.
Ah well. |

what country are you in???
Things seem to busy up according to UK time!!
Why are you considering being circumcised?
You know how I feel about the whole thing...but there are a couple of men that have posted before who have had adult circumcision and they are very happy with the results...but from my point of view, sexually, it makes no difference whatsoever! |

Bah, I wouldn't be f*cked to read all that nonsense.
First off, every guy who ends up getting cut in adulthood says "DAMN! Screw my stupid parents. This should've been done at birth!"
Secondly. 70% of the US here is cut. Oh they're just a bunch of psychos walking around with hatred towards their mothers. Because circumcision didn't allow them to bond with their mothers in early infancy. What a LOAD of crap.
There are nonsense books written about everything. Just because someone wrote a book means nothing. Ever heard of the bible?
Lastly, to Ezra. I did have it done for physical reasons. Phimosis and a short thick frenulum. There's something that screwed up the bonding experience in my life. My parents not having me cut. Seriously. I hated them for years for that in the back of my head.
The whole "only grown men should be able to choose this for themselves." That's so funny. No grown man wants to have to choose that and go through something you will most definetly feel and remember. I had to quit my job to get it done, because of the recovery time.
But whatever. If you're in Europe, whatever. In the US, it's selfish to have these ideas about OH I'm not doing that to my child, cuz I'm a hippy! Your kid is going to grow up feeling different from everyone else and is going to hate his parents for being silly hippies.
It's cultural here in the US, not because routine circumcision is nesscary. A lot of things in life aren't nesscary. It's just a good idea. And I've lived through both experiences, including getting the surgery done in adulthood, my opinions and people's like me are more valid than those of others. Not trying to sound conceited. It's just the simple truth. It's like me not liking it when big boob ladies get breast reductions. No! Precious boobs! I have no say in that. I wouldn't understand. |

krazi, there's no reason for that. They were probably just being polite.
Mr. Thick, you really are being a stubborn, ignorant asshole now. Men who have been circumcised in infancy may not be ANGRY with their parents, but they have been wronged, whether they realise it or not. Psychologically, there are reasons why they may not want to accept/admit to this. Have you ever heard of the subconscious? Never mind.
You obviously got circumcised out of herd-mentality. You keep mentioning that the majority in the US are circumcised, and it's apparent you did it because you wanted to be just like them.
If you got done for "phimosis", that was a mistake. Circumcision is not necessary for phimosis, and it cannot be properly diagnosed until age 18, so there would have been no reason for your parents to circumcise you. If you REALLY did have a medical problem, then OF COURSE you are going to be happier circumcised. Going from a painful penis with greater sensitivity and sexual function to a non-painful penis, regardless of senisitivity or sexual function... you are bound to be pleased with the results. That's good for you. Most of the men that get circumcised as adults do so for stupid reasons, and regret the results. They may insist that they are happy, because they do not want to admit to themselves that they made a silly mistake and can never reverse it. This is all sexual, and much psychology is involved. You cannot underestimate the psychological complexity of this subject. People are gettting emotional about it, and are not thinking logically...
Like you with your outbursts accusing those who don't want to circumcise their kids of being "hippies". There are no reasons to circumcise a child. This apparently has not occured to you, so you resort to ad hominem.
There are bullshit books written about most things, yes. The majority of circumcision literature is written by the pro- camp, and is painfully innaccurate, and taken seriously be NO ONE in the medical profession. There is one called "In Favour of Circumcision" by this Australian fella who is the laughing stock of his university. His other colleagues have to apologise for his remarks and piss-poor scholarship.
The book on the trauma of circumcision was written by a true genius psychologist, and thoroughly commended by other leaders in child psychology. Pro- claims can be disputed. Anti- ones cannot. The circumcision of infants IS a violation. If a grown man gets cut, that is HIS business, and that is fine. I would even consider it. But when performed on a baby, it is rightfully considered a mutilation.
It isn't the same as the "breast-reduction" thing. You judgement is clouded because of:
1) Your desire to fit in
2) Your hatred of foreskin (growing up where it is demonized)
3) Your "medical" condition.
This wasn't supposed to be about kids. I wanted to hear sensible opinions of grown women who have experienced BOTH sexually.
Thanks. |

hold on. You're the one here who is thinking of having done in the first place. HAHAHAH! Trust me, when you get it done, you'll wish you had it done at birth!
I'm being stupid and stubborn because I don't agree with you? Pffff.
Why do YOU want to get it done? You aren't even saying why. And you're asking ladies opinions about the sex, making me think you're doing it for ladies, which seems like a herd mentality to me.
You didn't mention what I said about the frenulum.
You sitting there and telling me I don't understand the situation even though I've had it done. hahaha. How I will see that it's a mistake. YOU'RE THINKING ABOUT HAVING IT DONE TOO FOOL!!!!
You are so backwards. Make up your damn mind.
Anti-circ opinions can't be disputed? HAHAHA! WHo's the asshole?
hehehehe, it's so funny. I really hope you get cut. It's gone be funny, for me that is.
And I do not regret the results. I'm so damn happy. |
