What if he was born from a woman who had had sex?
What if he had a human father?
What if he had loved a woman and married her?
What if he sired children?
What if he acknowledged a spritual father and mother?
What if he didn't walk on water?
What if he didn't die on a cross?
What if he didn't rise from the dead?
What if he got sick, cried with frustration, and cursed when he stubbed his toe?
What if, despite all of this, he was a man of great intelligence and insight with a profound message to share? What if he experienced all of the frailties and weaknesses of an ordinary man, and yet faced them with more conviction and fortitude than any man or woman had before him?
Would you love and revere him as much?
Can humans really aspire to emulate a god after all? |

| Jesus was just a decent guy who wanted to do good things. Whether hes the son of God or not he had good morals and deserves to be rememberd and respected. |

Good post. I'm not attempting to diminish the greatness of Jesus, but I suppose it could be argued that we are all the sons and daughters of God. |

Youv'e GOT IT IN ONE!
Cum to realise that all that matters in life is HOW MUCH WE LOVE and how much we forgive those that injure us. By forgiving them we are enriched ourselves.
The one thing you cannot give away without it coming back to you is LOVE
Ps, dont believe all you hear about me. I have been the victim of a horrible hoax.

I wrote to the Board at Female First and explained the problem I was having where mail was being posted in my name which I had not submitted.
I identified the email addresses and they have put a block on all male from those addresses.
Cant correspond very much, only when have access to a friends terminal
Thank you for all the support you were during a very difficult time. You wont probably know what I am talking about, but trust me, it is easy for some to kick someone when they are down. I learned first hand just how cruel some people in this forum can be.
I guess likewise, they are the sons and daughters of the evil one |

Nice one Sugar...
you have more or less just described the credo of the Arians. a christian sect that has been ruthlessly opressed as heretical by genocide since the 4th century. both the catholic church and the orthodox church have a lot to lose if people start to deny the dual nature of JC.
So I would keep my head down if I were you.
by the way - Isaac Newton was a believer in the Arian heresy too but only ever refered to it in very veiled terms.
you could always go one further and step into the manichean or bogomil heresies by denying the nature of the virgin birth - ooops you already did that. next you'd need to suggest the possibility that god is simply a power that might be the good principal or it's opposite the evil principal, why not try both?
personally I think that someone has overlooked something that is staring us all in the face - Jesus is not a name for a man but a very old word that predates christianity by several thousand years.
let me explain...
in all but english speaking countries the letter J is pronounced Y.
the pope himself still refers to jesus as yesu or yesus (in latin or german).
if you try saying it you will find that the middle S naturaly becomes more like a Z.
so we have YeZus
or if we seperate the natural stress of the word "Ye Zus"
If you pronounce this
Ye Zus out loud - you will be uttering exactly the same sound that the worshipers of Zeus used in praise of Zeus two thousand years before pontius pilot.
YE = the. the one. the almighty
Zus = Zeus (who also was refered to as deus)
Here we have an upstart sect - the christians, co-opting an existing deity - widely known as the king of the gods - without even changing his name. all they had to do then was write a few stories about the fictional geezer.
strangely enough our image of christ is also heavily influenced by the fact that the first ever representation of him was a copy of the statue of Zeus at olympia.
Not that I want to undermine the humanity of the message that your post contains. Its just that all the while we can only aspire to emulate god in the mould of the latter christian church then we are choosing to limit ourselves to 1600 years of dogma that is primarily concerned with proving everyone else wrong. maybe after all it would be better to emulate Zeus. |

Jesus was just a man..And if he was around today he would be ostracised from society and called a commie ..Plain and simple The man was and activist of his time ...But they dont ever tell u that because their is so much money invested in that mans name ..It would ruin everything for the People who have invested their money into These fair tales
A topic like jesus needs to be told from the mouths of experts Not mel gibson not Pop culture Not hollywood or the media ..Because their just going to sell u Half baked truths mixed with whole lies ..That alot of people beleive and than when someone comes out and says different their and uproar from the religous communities ..and they garner more attention more publicity more plugs for their lil shows and expose their merchandise |

That Gospel was written too long after Christ's death to have much meaning. It's interesting only in that it gives a look into the beliefs of a small sect of Christians a few centuries after Christ died. |

Jesus Christ is the Son of God:
"Many deceivers, who do not acknowledge Jesus Christ as coming in the flesh, have gone out into the world. Any such person is the deceiver and the antichrist." 2 John 1:7
"Who is the liar? It is the man who denies that Jesus is the Christ. Such a man is the antichrist - he denies the Father and the Son… I am writing these things to you about those who are trying to lead you astray." 1 John 2:22, 26 |
