I am soon to be 47 years old. I am 2 weeks late with a period. I have been having heat flashes and resstless sleeps for about a year now. I am sure this is another symptom of menopause. I took two pregnancy tests just to be sure. Both negative. I have a Doctor's appointment tomorrow. I want to be sure that this is a normal stage of my life and that there is nothing wrong with me. I'll follow-up this post after my Dr's visit.
hello i do feel for you i my self is going through the same thing as your self but i carnt seem to get an pointment to see my drs as i have to phone first thing in the morring by that time i have fallen back to sleep please let me know how you get on and all the best

Hi i'm now 38 years old and nineteen months ago I gave birth to my son (my last child) since then my husband has had a vasectomy and we have had the all clear on that, every thing was fine and I soon went back to having regular periods every 28 days, Now all of a sudden I'm late (10 days now) Ive done all the usual things pregnacy tests two up till now both came back negative, Ive been to see a doctor and was told not to worry it's proberly stress related, However not having a period has really upset me as I am beginging to think there is something seriously wrong with me, I am very emotional and cry a lot as the thought that I mcould be pregnant again is very hard to take in even though both the test ive done came back neg, Is there anybody out there that has been though something similar and could offer any words of comfort or advice

I'm so pleased to have seen this page. I'm 23, not on the pill but my boyfriend and I use condoms every time and are careful with them. My period is about two weeks late and I've just (about 10 minutes ago) done a test which came back negative. I've never been so scared in my life, I'm lucky my OH was with me the whole time. I've been really emotional the last week, even had cramps and back pain but no period! I'm glad to see this is somewhat normal. I guess we all need to relax a bit, eh? I'm doing a postgrad course at uni and have been taking it hard on myself so I guess I'll try to chill out a little. I'm going back on the pill too. 98% sure with condoms isn't enough for me anymore!
Anyway, it's wonderful to hear from other women of all ages describing a similar experience. I hope that you ladies who want to be pregnant conceive really soon. Mumof2, I found myself REALLY stressed out and upset the past few days, so much so that I've had real difficulty keeping food down and have been totally obsessing over it. Please try not to worry, as it creates a vicious cycle of hormones shooting around your body. If you've done that many tests there's almost no chance you're pregnant. Best.
Hi, I am 34 years old and I my last period was on 22nd December 2007 and I have missed all of January and February so far. I have done may tests and all of them have been negative, also been to the doctor for a blood test and that also came up negative. Yes, I have put on a little weight but my tummy bloats up and then down. All I want is my period back so I can start trying for a family again.

Rosie thank-you for your words of comfort, I found it very comforting to know that there is someone else out there that is or has felt very emotional over this, However I have still not had a period and I am now 3weeks late getting it, Try as I might I cannot seem to stop stressing about it, and to make me feel even worse friends are always joking that I could be starting on the change (menopause)but at 38 surely thats still too young?, Ive spent a fortune on pregnancy testing kits (4 now) all have which have given me a negative result, My next period should be due either on or around the 27th February, if this one fails to arrive as well then I shall be taking myself for a visit back to the doctors, hopefully they might be able to help and shed some light onto the possible reasons why this is happening. I will inform this site how I get on, In the mean time Ive got to try and stop stressing and take it easy and try to chill and hopefully my periods will return.
Hi its JD Again, just to let you know I still haven't got my period and I have been back to the doctors and I have had a ultrasound and everything looks good inside. They said I could still fall pregnant still without having my period for 8 weeks now. So I'm going to keep trying and hopefully something will happen.

I know it has been said before on this post but i am very pleased to have found others in a similar position. I am 23 and my Feb period has not arrived. I am on the pill and all though my period is very light it always arrives. I have taken 3 tests all negative (2 home kits, and one at the doctors). i was so stressed out about it and was making myself ill. When i spoke to the doctor about it she was so blasay, she was basically like 'oh yeh this can happen' well i've never heard anyone say that there period just didnt arrive. I didnt restart my pill after my week was up as didnt know what the hell was going on. The doctor said that if the test came back negative then it was ok to just restart it. Hopefully March period will arrive but i'm still so worried. I've been feeling rather unwell the last few days, i can't pinpoint anything jus generally not great, but now i can't help think that maybe i am just imagining it!
Good to know there are others out there with similar problems!

i had my last proper period last november...
none in december at all...
a strange short but heavy one at the beginning of january...
none in february...
none in march...
pregnancy tests all negative, have had blood tests now and have been called back in for the results this friday. i was told i wouldnt be called in for results if nothing was wrong, so that is concerning me a little. i have also been told to do a smear (not sure if this is related).
not particularly stressed, normalish weight (could lose half a stone, but not obese by any means!), havent been on Pill, no idea whats going on.
Im over a week and i stopped taking the pill 2months ago!Ive read that a lot of people that come off the pill have trouble with their periods 2-3months after they stop taking it, but im still worried.
I had protected sex(condom)but was still worried so i took levonelle and am wondering if there is any chance that it may be the cause?
If anyone has any information at all it would be great as im having trouble finding anything _!

Hi Again it's JD, just to update on my missed periods since Jan '08, Well I have finally got my period at came on the 4th April '08.
My doctor has put it down as hormonal and now I can properly try for kids.
I would like to say thank you to you out there with your own personal stories and it was great to read and I was happy that it just wasn't me out there who had many months of missed periods.

Well I am having the same problem... mine is quite late now... and my pregnancy test was negative
Just to tell you. I took another test on wednesday and I got a bit scared... My clearblue test had a line that was very very tiny and just started 1,30 min after testing... after 6 min or so it was a tiny line but it was a line.
I was almost sure I was pregnant so yesterday I did a Predictor test and it was negative. Today my period came...

JUST WANTED TO SAY THANKS TO ALL I HAVE BEEN SO WORRED IM 28 AND HAVENT BEEN ON THE PILL FOR 6MTHS (TRYIN TO GET PREGNANT) IM 12 DAYS LATE AND TAKEN 4 PREGNACY TEST ALL CAME BACK NEGATIVE:(. I WILL WAIT TILL MY NEXT ONE IS DUE (AROUND 12 MAY) THEN GO TO THE DOCS. I MUST SAY THOUGH THAT I HAVE THREE CHILDREN AND HAD THE SAME PROBS WITH THEM, WITH MY FIRST CHILD I EVEN HAD LIGHT PERIODS FOR 6 MTHS OF MY PREGNACY.

I just had a baby five months i got on the depo shot as sooon as i had my child i only took it once since then my periods have been so weird in feb i had 2 periods and march i was so light and spotty i didnt have to even wear a pad and april i missed it do u think i could be pregnant the thing is i dont feel like i did when i was pregnant the first time
