You are thinking along the the lines I was, his grandson was gaming and we think he may have overheated the video card or something.
We will check the hardware.

That happened to me yesterday...

I dumped the old CRT monitor, and bought a flat screen... I LOVE IT!..

I went into CONTROL PANEL, and DISPLAY, and changed the SETTINGS to 32 bit color, and to the tiniest screen I could set, and got "No Signal"... thht! and YIKES!..

I fixed it by reinstalling the old monitor, which gave me a screen.. then reset the Display settings to midway, and reinstalled the new flat monitor, and everything worked again...

It's likely that your PC doesn't have the proper video drivers for your new flat screen... If you are lucky, you'll find them . the Net.. but it's a real Bitch! trying to get video drivers off the Net... First you need to know the make and model of your video card... Lots uh luck!..
