My little boy has been dry for over a year he is 3 1/2 he has started a full time nursery and loves it, but 3 times this week he has come home in a change of pants and today when I asked they told me he had had an accident they were all outside playing and thats what had happend yesterday he is getting to involved in playing and forgetting he needs the toilet. I have to say I am a bit concerned because he has never done it before so why now, she has told me not to worry it is quite normal but Im not so sure I need a bit of help here has anyone else ever had this problem. I have two older boys and it has never happened to them once they were dry they were dry.

i can reassure you that it is quie normal. My little boy used to do the same thing..... still does on the odd occasion and he is now seven. I was worried too, but i have been assured it is quite normal..... especially with boys. they just get so caught up in what they are doing, they dont want to miss anything by going to the toilet.

Dont worry, it will sort itself out. Smile

I have a boy who is 5 in Oct. He is due to start school in Aug, and he still wets his pants, approx 5 days a week. He says he forgets to go? He also wets the bed, approx 4 days a week. I am really worried that he will do this when he starts school. I have tried all kinds of 'treatments'. Everthing from star charts to going to his room for a while to think about what he has done...but nothing has worked.
I am told by most mothers of boys, that this is normal, but I am really anxious that this will carry on at school, and he will get 'mocked and ridiculed.
Can anyone give me any advice/hints on how to resolve? I'm at my wits end.
Thanks
SB.

Have you thought about using terry trainer pants and plastic pants? Unlike pull-ups, they make the child more conscious that they are wet, and thus more discomforted. What is his attitude to wearing nappies (presuming that he does)?

You should not really worry about it at all. My son and daughter had the same problem, the daughter much worse than my boy, as she still had accidents at 13. I simply bought disposable diapers, which she wore when she felt the need. Nobody knew and she felt secure. She is now 23 and on occasions I think she still has little accidents.
