I'm 15 years old.
I have the opportunity to get my nose pierced within the next couple of days, but I go back to school in just under 2 weeks, and they don't tolerate piercings at all, despite the fact that one of the teachers has her nose pierced.
This is pretty much the only opportunity I'll have for a long time, so is it worth it? Or should I wait?
Please help!
Okay thanks.
There are many students in my year with nose piercings, lip piercings, and multiple ear piercings.
However a local store does do clear nose studs, and many shops do very small studs which they say can be covered with foundation.
I've been looking at my exam timetable, and I could get it on the 13th of June, the day after my last exam. If not, I could get it today or tomorrow.
Okay I got it anyway.
The piercer told me that I can change it in a minimum of 5 to 7 days.
So I bought 3 smaller studs that will go unnoticed in my school for sure.
It cost me £9.95, and at the moment I have a plain titanium stud in it, and I love it!
My mom liked it, but my dad seems to think that this means I'm going to get loads more on my face and started yelling at me, but hey. Who's he to judge?
I got it pierced on the left side.
The only problem was that I got a huge nose bleed afterwards, but I got told that's quite common.
She didn't give me any cleaning solution, and I forgot to ask her for some later in the day, so I've been using salt water.
I really like it and hope to keep it for a long time to come.

Wow, at 8? I wish I would have been allowed to get one then =]
I've just turned 14, and my mum said it was okay for me to get my nose pierced, I'm getting it done later today or at the weekend with my friend.
But, the school doesn't allow it, only for religion, though there are some girls who have them and the school doesn't say anything. I'm italian-turkish and my friends say if they tell you to take it out then say it's your religion, I might say that but I'm not sure..I want to get it done with a needle, but I can't seem to find any places where I'm from that has tatoo parlours..etc. I'm going to enfield[if you know] to get it done. I don't want to get it with a gun though, does it hurt? Also, would people in my year start to take the mick or anything? Like the guys? Well I'm not that bothered, but I will be the only one in my year with it. Thanks.

PS. Is there anything to cover it up with when I go to school?

Hi my name is lizzie and i have just had my nose pierced (friday 2nd may) but we're not allowed them at school so i have to wear a big plaster over it. I am thirteen and i'm not sure how they do it in all places but i had mine with what looked like a mini stapler. He put 1 half up my nose and the other outside and sort of clicked it and then that was it! he said that i didn't even have to clean it specially and that i could take it out in approx. 1 week.
I am thinking also about converting to Hindu because at the moment i was christened a protestant but i don't want to be one. What should i do????
Love Lizzie x x x

Lizzie,
At 13 you are just reaching the age where you are starting to think about a lot of things and questioning things you have always done simply because that is the way your parents told you to do them. It's quite common for teenagers to have questions about their own and other religions. For now, I suggest you study the Hindu religion as well as any other relgion you might be curious about. Just because you study a religion does not mean you have to join that religion or accept any of its teachings. But if you learn about the religion now, when you are a young adult you will be able to make an infromed decision whether you want to join that religion or not.
Congratulations on having your nose pierced. It is becoming a much more common piercing than it was a few years ago. What did your parents say when you told them you wanted to have your nose pierced? How did you convince them to let you have your nose pierced? Answers to these questions could be helpful to others about your age who are thinking about getting their noses pierced.

If you buy a small enough stud, it's harder to be noticed.
I went to school with a tiny red one for the last couple of months of school before I left (I was in my last year), and nobody ever questioned it. My teachers never said anything, and my mates thought it was a spot, until I told them. Not a very attractive thought, but it did the trick. Also, if you get a small enough stud, you should be able to cover it over with a bit of foundation, just to disguise it more.
I'm sure that if other girls in your school have it, then they surely haven't noticed there's, and that reduces the chances of you being noticed with your piercing.
Also, my piercing was also done with a gun. I was about to say something to the piercer to ask if there was any way she could do it with a needle, but before I could it was already done. It didn't hurt, but it was a bit of a shock, and I had a huge nose bleed afterwards, but that didn't hurt either. And now it's absolutely fine.
I don't see why anybody would make fun of you for it, if anything, a few girls would be jealous and you may well just start a trend throughout your year group. Just go for it. Be confident with it, and flaunt it whenever you can!
Hope this helps. (:

About 25 years ago I was working as a professional piercer when a lady (whom I had pierced several times) came into the studio with her 5 year old daughter.
The mother had multiple ear piercings plus studs in both nostrils and asked that I put three rings in each of her daughters ears and studs in both her nostrils. I was reluctant in view of the childs young age but after some thought I asked the mother to leave while I spoke to the little girl - who was very grown up for her age - alone.
I asked whether she wanted to be pierced and she firmly said yes and that it was her idea. While her mother was in agreement the initiative had certainly come from the child. I therefore agreed to do the work partly because if I refused they could end up getting it done somewhere less experienced.
I got the mother to sign a release form clearly specifying the work to be done.
I spent considerable time marking up her ears and nose talking to her all the time explaining what I was doing and that she should expect to feel a little prick as each needle went in.
When the marking was done to my satisfaction I again asked if she still wanted to go ahead and got a definite yes.
I suppose it took me 5 seconds to get three needles into one ear and the same for the second. I left the needles in place while I pierced her nostrils. She kept smiling all through even though she flinched very slightly as the needles went through her nostrils. I then took my time fitting the jewellery and she was absolutely delighted when she looked in the mirror at the finished results.
She has been a regular customer over the years and is now extensively pierced and I recently pierced the ears of her 4 year old daughter.

Be sure to keep it clean. One day, going to the hospital, I saw a woman on the bus - pull the nostril stud out, clean her nails, and then return the stud to her nose.
Yuck -
As a man, there would be too much comment if I had such a piece inserted.
I am 16 years old and I asked my mom if I was able to get my ear pierced. I already have double piercing on the ear lobes. So my mom suggested to get my nose pierced. I am still think about it and I don't know what to get. Cartilage piercing on the ear, or nostril piercing. Personally it doesn't matter to me but I am more worried about the pain. Then I play soccer, and your are not suppose to wear jewlry. Most people hide it.
I have no clue what to do! Personally I am swaying more towards the nose but like I said eaerly I am worried about the pain.
