Depends on how they are done and if its in good taste. I'm modfying my car at the current moment and it slooks good.

The 05 Cav is not a Vauxhall. Its a completely different car. Wink

Depends where you are. Over here in America, they stopped making the Cavalier's in 05. They gave them a overhaul with a new engine/trans for the 03-05 series.

they normally look crap - whats the point in keving up a 1.1 corsa, spending hundreds on a body kit, hundreds on 17" alloy wheels that fill the aches but screw up the handling and reduce any acceleration it had to nothing! and spending hundreds on a stupid sound system which fills the boot...........all this extra weight slows the car down but makes it look like it could go like S*** - but doesn't cos its got a 1100 engine in it and it weights 2 tons.........another thing that makes me laugh is people who rebadge there cars - they drive a hunk of S*** 1 litre with a loud exhaust (and the induction kit!) and think they are the bees knees driving around town cos it says m5, gti or vts on it!!

chav boy racers piss me off - the t**** that rev the F*** out of there cars at traffic lights egging you on beside them....same goes for audi tt owners(the ones with the 180 brake quattros) - they think they have the fastest car around - fact the cars are average doesn't matter - they still look at you at the lights wanting a race.......t****! its not like am a silly old man either - I'm a 23yr old 106 gti owner - just fed up with chav boy racers that just drive around towns all day listening to shite music...........rant over!

Rebadgeing there cars?Who the F*** does that?I think your quite ignorant a bout you view of modified cars!As far as doing up 1.1 car goes,you work with what you got!Granted it might look S*** and not to manys taste,but half these people its there first car and there just going all out at there local halfords store!
You obviously cant remember trying to get isured when you were 17!!!If you offered to pay the insurence for a 106 gti for any of them driveing a 1.1 then im sure they would take you up on the offer!
And any one who actually modifies a car to high standard has to be given credit where its due.The amount of time and dedication it takes is unbelievable!Some modified cars are truely amazing!Its all about not being just another face in the croud!!!!

a lot of people around here rebadge there 205 to a gti, there bmw to a m?, there vtr to a vts........quite silly!

wouldn't they be better saving the money for a better car? just doesn't make sense!

insurance was easy......back in the day where my mother could insure it in her name with any driver able to drive it.........had a mark 2 golf driver - cost £300 to insure.........people pay a lot more for a 1L fiesta these days.........you can hunt out a fast car that won't cost a bomb to insure......honda civic vtec for example!
