Is there anyone planning to get married in St Lucia? Just wondering if someone can give me advice on where to start planning something like this as I have no idea! I'd also be interested in receiving information re venues etc.

Thanks!

we were married in St.Lucia last April. We just went to our travel agent and went from there. It was awesome we stayed at the Sandals Grande St. LUcian, highly recommend it. Would do it again in a second.

My fiance just booked a 7 day vaca at the Regency St. lUcia Resort. I just read an awful review about it. They said the Grand was much better. Any suggestions???? I thought all three seemed really nice. What do you think? Should I change reservations to the grand????

I just got back from the Sandal's Regency and just want you to know that I would not book this place for a wedding or a honeymoon. Their honeymoon deluxe suite had much to be desired, the food was mediocre and if you want any quiet time you won't get it here. There are nicer and safer places to go. Try Bermuda. At the least do not go to the Regency,
The Halcyon was the nicest and the Grand looked o.k. but, I still would go somewhere that you felt safe enough to leave the resort unescorted.

Hello, I am also getting married at the Grande in Feb 06 and done no planning as yet. Can anyone help? We have booked the Honeymoon Lagoon Swim Up Room b ut I have to behonest I have not read one good report and it has cost us about £2,000 for the upgrade for the 2 weeks. Thats a lot of money!!!!!!!!!! From what I have read it seems that if you have a lower rate room you will automatically get upgraded? but can you risk that on your wedding/honeymoon? Please Help!!!

Sad AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE - SAVE YOUR MONEY)!!!!

My husband and myself have just come back from St Lucia Regency. Our wedding day was "the wedding from hell".

The wedding co-ordinator arrived 20 minutes late when I was supposed to be getting married. I was rushed into a golf buggy and then informed that my husband to be was not there!. I had to crouch behind a wall so he would not see me. No sooner had my foot reached the bottom of the stairs then the wedding music began. My husband was still frantically trying to get the rings out of his pocket before I got to him. The wedding co-ordinator was no longer to be found. The photographer was grumpy and barked orders at us to the point we said that we had had enough. We were left alone in the pool area with the wedding office being locked up and the wedding co-ordinator nowhere to be seen. We then had to get a lift in the hotel shuttle bus because we had no transport to get us back to our room.

we then got changed and went for our supposedly wedding meal to find out that no wedding meal had been booked and I also forgot to tell you, we had our wedding cake pinched whilst having the awful photographs taken.

When we did get the photographs, three of them had a semi naked old man being massaged in the background.

I could go on forever about this as so many awful things happened on what should have been the best day of our lives.

Save your money - I cannot stress this enough!

I wouldn't recommend getting married at Sandals in St. Lucia, as one of my friends made the mistake of doing just that and has regretted it ever since. She actually phoned me on her wedding day in tears. She said the wedding coordination was simply appalling! There were 11 other couples getting married on the same day and my friend described it as being on a "wedding conveyor belt", as couples were practically queuing up at one point. I couldn't believe it!

After the wedding, she and her husband met a photographer and his wife one night, who were at Sandals for the evening celebrating their wedding anniversary. Ray and Kari lives in St. Lucia and owns a Media Productions company. They got on really well and kept in touch after my friend and her husband came home.

My fiance and I visited St. Lucia last year and met with Ray and Kari to deliver some presents from my friend. They were really very lovely people and even showed us around the island and took us out. My fiance and I fell in love with St. Lucia and on the spur of the moment decided to get married while we were there. We had no idea how to go about doing this, but Ray and Kari offered to help us with all the arrangements. They were absolutely amazing! We asked them to be our witnesses on the day and Ray even offered to take our wedding photos, as he does wedding photography! My husband and I still can't quite believe how perfect our wedding day was!

We're still in touch with Ray and Kari. If you would like some information on getting married in St. Lucia, feel free to drop them an email (karay@candw.lc). I know they will be more than happy to help out in any way they can. They are real gems! Of course, I might be just a tad biased as they are also my friends!

Just say Cath told you about them!

Oh, you can also check out their website at www.karaymedia.com
