| Hi, someone has changed my password and msn can't help me because i can't remember my details. there are a lot of people out there claiming they can hack accounts. but i dont know who to trust. I am so desperate for my account back that i will pay 1000 pounds to anyone who can give me the password, i will not pay a penny untill the password is given. however i will give you my email and keep contacting you until you get the money. If you are a real hacker then there is nothing to loose, if you dont receive the money you can easilly change my password which i dont want so i wouldnt risk trying not to pay. Please help mw you have noting to loose and 1000 to gain. Thank you |

| its impossbile to hack a msn account unless you hack msn or use a brute force method (entering random passwords until you get one right) but that can take for ever |

Just a random thought.
Could you demand retreval using the Data Protection Act ?
Of course this is probably another area where M$ believe themselves to be above the law and in this case they might be. Depends where the servers reside I guess. |

MSN get very uppity about people hacking the passport service which is used for authentication and for hotmail, messenger etc even if it is your account because it is still their servers.
Contact MSN via www.passport.com (then Account Services, get answers from customer support and then contact us) and tell them that you account has been hacked and if the answer to your secret question has been changed tell them this too.
They will probably ask you for a list of previous passwords for the account and some other data that only you should know. They should be able to return the account to your control.
If you do get it back then donate the money to the NSPCC or another childrens charity if you're outside the UK. I could use it and all, but they could use it more... |

Tina - The Data Protection Act is actually what's preventing the OP from being able to access their account, so I'm not 100% sure what you thought the DPA was actually going to do to help the OP as you didn't say in your post.
MS like any other company are legally bound to confirm that they are dealing with the correct person before changing any account details. Because the OP wasn't able to answer the questions they could not confirm this information and could not proceed to resetting the password and allowing access to the account.
So how about cutting them some slack for once eh Tina? |

| If you've used a certain machine to get into it, you may be able to retrieve the password from it locally instead of trying to hack anything, etc. Download it and run it, voila. Aaah, the many values of freeeware password crackers, check at download.com. (Only as it is your account.) |

This is like Hotmail. You lose your password, sorry for you simple.
I agree, why is it worth so much to you. Let's have the full story. If you've gone into that account on a specific machine there's a way, but I'd also like to know the why, cause that's a lot of money there. |

I had it for about 5 years now, also there is a long distance friend i have and i didn't think to get her number, we used to talk about everything and it's so nice to have someone like that. you know when they don't judge you as much as local mates |

hehe i probably should have a violyn right now but there are lots of reasons, some of my mates have moved away. I can't work out their adresses. Hotmail is (sadly) to me a mini life that i have lost. also i have a cool msn adress that is personal and i cant make it again. I no it sounds mad but i feel 1000 is worth it. If any one can help me id be so gratefull |
