|
|
I'm planning on taking my lover away for his 40th birthday in October and want to take him to Paris as he's never been.
I'm looking for recommendations for a top-notch, individual hotel - something typically Parisian (elegant, unique - I don't want an identikit Hilton/Radisson/Ibis jobbie!).
I also quite fancy the idea of going to a smoky, atmospheric jazz or music club - somewhere dimly lit with intimiate booths and live music.
Basically I'm after creating a fabulously sexy weekend - as well as doing all the usual tourist stuff (which I'm well acquainted with having been to Paris a number of times myself) I want to make it something we'll never forget!
All comments/recommendations gratefully received! |

Anywhere in Montmatre will probably seem sexy as it's the sex area - the infamous moulin rouge being there and many sex shops.
Last time I stayed- we stayed in the Bastille area and there were many lovely quiet restaurants with smokey, candlelit atmosphere and quaint french music - plus it had the added bonus of having a massive street market in the morning where we could get fresh fruit and treats for the day (Rue Richard Lenoir)
The only area I wouldnt have been too keen on staying in is the area surrounding the Eiffel tower - far too busy and touristy and annoying street sellers that wont leave you alone - but then I imagine the views would make up for these minor grievances.
Personally though, Bastille and Montmatre are my favourite areas of Paris. |

Try www.expedia.co.uk
They can narrow down your search by price, location and it gives you ratings on hotels as well. And prices aren't bad. I usually stay in the Disney resort so I cant recommend something central Iam afraid. I think the Arc D'Triomphe area would be nice and the Champs Elysee area is close by so there will be plenty of restaurants and nice bars around! |
