Do not do any type of exercises on your own. It would be very easy to injure yourself or your baby.
Walking is the best thing you can do right now. It gets you in shape for labor and it also give all the pushing muscles the workout they need. There are also videos or dvds you can buy which are excercises for pregnant women. They will show you which exercises are safe and how to do them without harming yourself or your baby. |

| No, you're supposed to continue excercising. Every Dr. apt I go to the dr asks me what I'm doing to stay fit. I'd just say not to start anything new or high impact. But jogging, tennis, yoga, some aerobics, etc are excellent for you. |

| My wife did a Marathon in the early stages of her pregnancy (strangley our daughter now does athletics at school). Anyhow basically they normally say if you were active before there is no reason to not be active during your preganancy. Obviously there will be certain limitations as you go through the various stages of pregnancy ie I can't imagine anyone doing sit-ups 8 months pregnant |

You can still do any exercise you did previously apart from anything to high impact - so no aerobics or things like that. The reason is because during pregnancy you release more of the hormone relaxin which relaxes the ligaments and therefore you can damage yourslf a lot easier, although you probably feel more flexible! Swimming and walking are the best forms of exercise you can do - ask your midwife if they run aquantal classes in your area - there great fun!!!
Take care and keep active - but don't over stretch youself! |
