Ok, I need some advice. I will be traveling to London next month. How acceptable is it to go braless there? I hate the things and wear them as little as possible.
I have a couple of stretch lace tops that I like to wear out to dinner, preferably bare underneath. Yes, my nipples can be visible. Is this going to cause a problem for me. It's not a problem at home, but I do live in Californa. |

if you are comfortable going braless then do so.
I wish I could but I'm "well endowed" so its not an option for me

Susan, have you ever tried going braless with a top that has a moderate amount of spandex? I'm not "well endowed" (34C) but I used to be uncomfortable braless, with everything just jiggling around. But if you wear a snug top with a bit of spandex, it provides some well needed support. An added bonus is that the spandex hugs the breasts and provides a really beautiful outline. |

Thanks Prophet. Yep, we yanks are a pretty uptight group. Comes from our puritanical heritage. Thank goodness for California! |

The best I can manage is the strappy tops from that have an underwired bra built in.
I used to be a 34C then nature took hold and a couple of babies later I ended up a 34DD. At least it keeps my husband happy

I have never worn a bra but I have to admit that I feel a lot more comfortable not doing so here in mainland Europe than I do in the UK.
I actually heard on a Radio 4 programme the other day that women should not wear miniskirts and crop tops in the streets of UK cities in case they offend the members of a certain ethnic religion! |

To be honest it all depends on how going braless looks. If the top is loose fitting and your breasts bounce around alot, you might get alot of disapproving looks from both sexes. From reading alot of posts i know many people say about do what is comfortable for you but that has consequences if you are apprehensive about what others may think. If your totaly happy with your body and dont care what others really think then go braless.
I see many women in the UK go braless and they are able to carry it off very well with no disapproving looks from the public but have also seen others that look terrible and have heard many comments like 'look at that slutt' and this was comments mainly from other women.
In private many people will say how much they approve of women who go braless but in public they denounce it for fear of being labled a perv of some kind. errect nipples can cause a problem but a few of my female friends say they get around this problem by covering them with medical tape.
In all, publicly we Brits are still a conservative lot when it comes to sex and things of a sexual nature but privately anything goes.
I'm not being for or against you going braless in London, just trying to give you an honest opinion as to how the majority of people in London may percieve you.

I generally don't go for the loose and swinging look. More of a snug top with a subtle look. But let's face it, if your clothes fit well, most folks can tell whether or not you are wearing a bra.
Appreciate your comments UK Gent. Sort of what I expected, I think Americans and Brits are cut from the same cloth when it comes to this type of thing. I'm leaning toward playing it safe and being conservative, don't want some perv to ruin my vacation. |

Depending on how long your vaction is for, try this, go conservative for a couple of days just to get the feel of things, look around and and see what the majority of women are wearing, if you see many in bra's then the safe bet is that is the thing to do because i am sure if the local women could get away with going braless i am sure they would.
as for the perv's, men and some women for that mater will still look at you whether you wore a bra or not |

No particular reason to wear a bra in London: I worked there for years and never wore one, and never hid the fact that I was braless either. You'll get admiring looks from some people (like me!) and some disapproving looks from mother-grundy types who could just look the other way and not be offended. Quite frankly, they're my tits, and I like the way they look braless: permanently erect nipples and all! If you like what you see, I'm happy, and if you don't like it then don't look!
Don't fuss about the bras, truly. Just wear what you like and join the UK braless brigade! |

| I see plenty of bra-less ladies in London. I don't think anyone's bothered by it. If some girl makes a catty remark, it means she's jealous: ignore her (or if you want to annoy her, smile at her). Most people won't mind at all - it's a vast and pretty open-minded city and people wear just about anything! |
