Turkey was freakin scary...just because I have blonde hair I was continuously harassed and one man locked me in his tea shop after inviting my family to sample his fruit teas with a view to buying....

Ive never wanted to leave somewhere so much in my life. I plan on NEVER returning. Fancy my chances of survival more in Iraq!

Well, I was fortunate enough to have spent four months in Turkey, and I would have had loads of recommendations and tips for you, but since your post is dated April of last year, it wouldn't be any good to you now. Laughing If you ever read this, I hope you had a wonderful trip! Now you're in a position to give all of us travelling tips. Very Happy

I visited Ephesus! What an amazing place. Wasn't it funny how the library had an underground tunnel to the local brothel? Did you see the oldest surviving advertisement of the carved foot on the stone path: If your foot fits, then you're big enough to go to the brothel. Laughing

I know what you mean about the heat. I've only travelled to Turkey in the summer, and it got very hot for this Canadian chicky.

Did you have any merchants shout at you, "Let me help you spend your money!" Tons of people are willing to be your tour guide if you visit their shop, or their brother's restaurant, or their cousin's bakery...Laughing

The Turks are very hospitable, and they have delicious food! Loved it there! Very Happy
