I'm 3 days with the Murad supplements and I'm suffering from headaches. It contains the usual vitamins and others like fish oil which I've used in the past without a problem, so I'm guessing it must be some of the rest like borage oil, turmeric, silica etc... Ugh!!!

Hey there,

I live in BC, Canada. If you google Skin Biology they have a website in BC where you can get the Copper Peptides, Emu Oil and acid. Shipping is really quick.

I am still doing peels, and will be for the next couple of months at least by my reckoning (allowing for necessary rest periods etc). Here is what I can say up until now. I am using 20% tca and applying it neat, but my skin was already used to peels from using GA.

My marks are significantly reduced already but are still not gone. It has not yet completely removed marks anywhere far as I can tell, but it has reduced the depth and width of all of them by a lot. Working on my improvements so far I would imagine I would need to do around 8 peels on each area, bar my arms which will probably only need about 4 peels. Others may not need to do as many peels but most of my stretch marks are very very old, probably older than some of the posters on this board. That and the fact I am using only 20% tca means it will take longer. The reason I don't want to step up from 20% to a higher concentration is I think it would be really difficult for 20% to burn me. I would have to be a complete moron and pour the stuff on for it to burn my skin, so I feel relatively safe that though I will get hyperpigmentation, I will not end up with tca burns, which I believe can be a nightmare to get rid of. I have said it before and will say it again, I wish I had just tried it when I started with GA over a year and a half ago, because I very much doubt I would still be posting here now.

***Please be very careful if you choose to try tca, stick to low concentrations and water down if necessary and try a test area before you start treating your marks, as you could end up with permanent scarring if your skin reacts badly to it***

Hope the update helps.

Do you think using glycolic for so long helped to prepare your skin for the tca? I am using lactic then will move onto glycolic then hopefully to tca when my skin is ready. or is all this preparation useless?

Not a good idea to use if your breastfeeding or pregnant!

If none of that, then your fine. Only thing is to make sure you get no bangs or prolonged friction on the area (especially while your skin is peeling). The other one is sweat which will sting like heck & flare the skin up if it gets onto any area with peel. Keep the area cool, by doing no exercise for a few days after the peel. As little movement as possible & keep out the sun. If it's on your arms, wear something with long sleeves. Legs, wear 3/4 or trousers etc.

Treat the skin as fragile until your skin peels naturally. Then you can go back to normal after 7/10 days. Use your other creams for the next few weeks. Then it's time for the second peel. Just follow the exact same instructions.

You only need one acid beforehand. So once you've used Lactic for a minimum of 3 weeks before the peel. Although try & get as using them as early as possible (I'd recommend starting them 5 - 8 weeks before). Then do the TCA. You don't need to evole from Lactic to Glycolic to TCA. The only thing you must do with your chosen acid is have a strength. Higher strengths of Lactic & Salicylic are more expensive & harder to find. Whereas Glycolic is a lot cheaper & easier to source. If you have a lot of marks & areas to treat, then it's more cost effective in the long run.

Minimum strength you should be using is 20%. 30% is what I'd personally recommend. I've gave a few long winded posts since 410, so check back & you'll see the 2 main reasons as to why you should use an acid as a pre-treatment before moving on to TCA.

It may have helped, I really don't know, perhaps do as the guest poster said and use glycolic for a few weeks before tca. With tca try a test area first though, just to gauge how your skin will react to it. Provided that goes ok you can then rotate your peels depending on how many areas you have to treat.
