From what they tell me the old actor never understood much of what he said himself since he basically just read the script and smiled................  |

They say Alzheimer’s struck early in the second term, so I don’t think anyone grasped what he was saying. I understand that Nancy had a string inserted in the back of his neck so she could work his mouth…that it wasn’t him anyway.  |

From what I have heard & read starting here some thought he was a god while others no more then actor who repeated cliches .....................
Saw too how he was going senile in his first term and almost got thrown out of office for selling of countrys Iran weapons and using the money to pay for a war in Latin America congress wasn't for .................... 
He couldn't have been any worse then the one time town drunk of Crawford Texas we have now ......................  |

Well, you’ve gotta understand republicans. The game they are playing is: “how low can you go?” Year after year, republican after republican, it’s either a senator making a pass at a police officer in Minnesota, or a representative from Florida trying to diddle little boys among the House pages.
In the big picture, it’s not really the Crawford drunk, but Cheney. Every generation produces its fair share of tyrants. Most of them don’t get near power. Cheney got into the ideal position. He got near power, but out of the line of fire for responsibility. So for seven and a half years he has called the shots and put the drunk up as a shield.
But yes, the legacy of the Bush administration will be the advent of the imperialist presidency. Indifference to public opinion, indifference to American history, indifference to American rights, indifference to American standards of decency and fairness, indifference to human rights, indifference to honesty, indifference to fraud, indifference to cover-up, indifference to the other co-equal branches of government and generally, I don’t think they take baths.
The thing I pause at is Obama. No matter who is in power, an imperialist presidency favors the incumbent. Now I see Obama voting in favor of the FISA amendments on wiretapping, as a Senator. Is he considering his exalted imperial position once he gets into the presidency, which he will? This is not mere moving to the center. The FISA bill is a right wing power grab. Yet Obama is in favor of it???! No matter whom we elect, s/he apparently is infected with this disease. |

The man was out of it. His ideas were written by some corporate goon bent on raping the system to "maximize shareholder profit." Everyone should have access to healthcare. You just don't know when some catastrophe will hit. It's nice to know that when the chips are down for a majority of people, there are still those out there (Fred) who can say "tough S***, ditch digger, here's a shovel, put it to some good use!" |
