I am a trainee beauty student and i recently took part in a hair competition in which they put a semi permenent colour on my hair. I have natural auburn/redish hair that has alot of blonde tones within it and i have nebver had my hair colored before. The colour that they put on my hair was a red which they said would make my hair look more vibrant. At first the hair colour looked good as it was much the same as mine only a little more vibrant however when i came home and washed my hair myself the colur faded quite drastically and left my hair looking a dark brown color.

Is there any reason for this and of so why has it happened? I have thought about geting my hair stripped however i have looked into it and the experience can be quite damaging on your har and as my hair is already dry from the semi permenant color i do not want to tamper with it.

Also i have been reading about semi permanent colour and i read that your hair may never return back to its normal color, is this true? As this is a rather worrying thought!

Do you have any suggestions on how i could speed up the process of removing the color form my hair as i just want my natural color back!

PLEASE HELP!
Leah

I went to beauty school and we would use unscented woolite or fabric softner to get unwanted color out. Ask your teacher? Have it dyed back close to you hair color as possible. The fun in being in beauty school is to experience 100's of hair styles and colors for free. You could be a class project on how to fix this problem and everyone can help.
