Hi,
I'm concerned:
About 3 weeks ago I woke up with very sore, swollen breasts. A week later I got my period, but an abnormal one. Whereas I usually have a heavy period that lasts for 7-8 days, this was very light (like one-panty-liner-a day light!), and I didn't have the usual cramps. It lasted for 5 days. Once that was over I started feeling sick often, and for the past few days I have been feeling very tired. I have also had some weird feelings in my abdomen.
I did a pregnancy test at the GPs but it came out negative. However I've read stories of negative tests well into pregnancy.
Was wondering if any of you had similar experiences or any advice for me?

Could you explain how your doc is being unhelpful?
I was 4 1/2 weeks when I tested positive but the second line was very faint. I took three home tests and then got a blood test to be sure!!
Those definately sound like pregnancy symptoms and it's possible you're just closely intune with your body but your hcg levels haven't risen high enough to be detected so i'd insist on a blood test, or find another doctor and then insist on a blood test because it's the only way to be sure.
My symptoms were similar to yours, I bled but only very lightly which is what I assume was my implantation bleeding, and about 3 weeks after that my boobs were sore like I was due, I was very emotional come about 5pm and I started to get really tired in the afternoons too. I didn't have any sickness though, or any weird feelings in my tum.
How old are you?
Remember you very well may be pregnant but those symptoms can all be due to other things as well, so don't stress (or get your hopes up) depending on how you feel about it. But do follow it up.
Hi Captain, thanks for your reply
The doctor basically said if I had any kind of period I wasn't pregnant, and even if I had missed a period I wasn't because the test came up negative. He refused to discuss the other symptoms I had been experiencing. I guess I'll wait to see if th next period comes before going back to him.
I am generally pretty in tune with my body, but you're right that these symptoms could be something else.
Oh, and I'm 22 years old.
