My fiance and I are planning our May wedding and from the very beginning I have tried to keep my future mother-in-law involved. But nothing ever seems good enough. She was upset that I didn't invite her when I shopped for my gown (sorry, I just wanted to spend that moment with my mom). When I tried to show her pictures of the bridesmaid dresses, flowers, etc., she got up and walked away. I even invited her to come and see the church and reception hall, but she claims that I told her a different day and she already made plans. She criticized us because we are going to Atlantis for our honeymoon - she says we shouldn't be wasting our money on a honeymoon. She didn't go on a honeymoon, why should we? Of course, she never had a wedding either - his parents eloped. So I think that's part of the reason why she's being so difficult. I just don't know how to handle this. My fiance has tried to be supportive because he knows how his mother likes to be the one calling the shots, but he's caught in the middle. I am really starting to dislike his mother and am reconsidering whether or not I want to marry him and have to put up with his mother for the rest of my life. Any advice?[/list]

It's not her wedding! It's your's! Tell her that. She seems to be the one with the problem so just let her get on with her sulking. Sounds so childish the way she's getting on! You want your wedding the way you want it, not the way someone else wants it. Just try your best to ignore her childish moods.
