Embarrassing problem: Need advice

Hi everyone, just looking for some advice.
I’m part of a fairly small Island community; my mum is the only Doctor here.
I’ve got a sore bottom but would be embarrassed to have her examine it.
If I tell her about it she’ll just tell me to stop being so bashful and tell me to let her examine it.
Do you think I should have her examine it or take a boat to the mainland and see a Doctor there?
What would you do?

Take the boat. I'm a mum and I would not want to examine my adult son's bum. There are just some lines you want to stay behind. (forgive the pun)

Since she’s a Doctor it really shouldn’t be a problem.
Just let her look at it.

Just to let you know I told my mum about my sore bottom, and just as predicted she said I should let her examine it. Embarassed

I told her I was embarrassed to show her.
She convinced me there was no need for shame; after all she’d seen everyone on the island undressed at some point.
I went to the toilet first then had a shower.
I went to the examination room with a towel wrapped round myself.
I lay on the examination table and removed my towel.
My mother applied a pair of gloves and parted my buttocks.
I have to admit I found this rather embarrassing, but there was no going back.
She noted that my anus was a little red.
Next she administered some lubrication to her fingers.
This was the bit I was really hoping to ovoid.
She slipped a finger up my bottom, followed by a second.
She performed a full examination which was a little uncomfortable.
When she was finished she wrote me a prescription, and I’m pleased to say I’m better now.
Although it was a bit strange to have my mum carry out such an intimate act for her I was just another patient.
