| Mac, I think it comes down to our training and conditioning. Personally I don't like sit down jobs when I'm away from home. However I don't mind occasionally sitting to pee in the privacy of my own home, particularly if I suspect there's a #2 in the offing as well. |

Why are you so fixated on it??

Desiderata - by Max Ehrmann, c.1920
Go placidly amid the noise and haste, and remember what peace there may be in silence.
As far as possible, without surrender, be on good terms with all persons. Speak your truth quietly and clearly; and listen to others, even to the dull and the ignorant, they too have their story. Avoid loud and aggressive persons, they are vexations to the spirit.
If you compare yourself with others, you may become vain and bitter; for always there will be greater and lesser persons than yourself. Enjoy your achievements as well as your plans. Keep interested in your own career, however humble; it is a real possession in the changing fortunes of time.
Exercise caution in your business affairs, for the world is full of trickery. But let this not blind you to what virtue there is; many persons strive for high ideals, and everywhere life is full of heroism. Be yourself. Especially, do not feign affection. Neither be cynical about love, for in the face of all aridity and disenchantment it is perennial as the grass.
Take kindly to the counsel of the years, gracefully surrendering the things of youth. Nurture strength of spirit to shield you in sudden misfortune. But do not distress yourself with imaginings. Many fears are born of fatigue and loneliness.
Beyond a wholesome discipline, be gentle with yourself. You are a child of the universe, no less than the trees and the stars; you have a right to be here. And whether or not it is clear to you, no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should.
Therefore be at peace with God, whatever you conceive Him to be, and whatever your labors and aspirations, in the noisy confusion of life, keep peace in your soul.
With all its sham, drudgery and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world.
Be cheerful. Strive to be happy. |
I remember being locked outside of my house waiting for my hubby to come home, i was bursting and when he finally did come home i rushed upstairs to the washroom and i got to the loo and i could not get my skirt and tights down in time and just sat on the toilet and peed threw them it was soooo embarassing [1][/1]

Hi Jesica don't be embarassed lots us have been caught out and taken short (and I am a male). I remember during the eighties I had been out shopping in freezing weather and was taken short. At the time I was wearing a pair dungarees without flies (not that wearing tights underneath helped matters) So needless to say I couldn't hide somewhere and unzip.
By the time I made it home and to the washroom I couldn't unattach the bib and brace and take my dungarees and tights down in time and wet myself.

I do a lot of sport, its a funny thing but at sports events you can get away with peeing just about anywhere without any problems or getting to embarrassed-well after the first few times anyway.
Running events are the best for just squat & squirt-down to the fact everybody needs to go just before the start-never enough portaloos at these events so any bush, wall, car is just fine-I used to spend a lot of time looking for well hidden spots now I just think you have to go when you need to go & get on with it.
Have not quite mastered the art of pulling my shorts to one side & taking a pee standing have tried a few times ended up with a wet leg & damp shorts.
When cycling I ride mainly in an all men group for 3-4 hrs this normally means a natural stop mid route, then men just stop stay on the bike &pee again I used to look for a bush/hedge now just squat on the side of the road they guys are used to it & off we go again.
A friend of myn rides at a very high level, she tells me in these races ove 3 1/2 hours the girls do not or can not do as the guys so normal practice is to just wee as you ride-I tried this but even when really desparate cannot do this! |

Last week I was 'caught short' on a 3 hour coach journey. Needed a pee from about 10 mins in - don't think i've ever come so close to wetting myself since I was a kid! Was actually really embarrassing situation - made me realise that there is nothing us girls can do if we are desperate and there is no loo.
Has anyone shared my misery recently? What did you end up doing? (I actually couldn't make it to a toilet and ended up squatting(!!) between two parked coaches at a coach station)
Tell me i'm not the only one - and, it is harder for girls isn't it |
Well yes, it happened to me few times. Acctually I don't have so strong bladder, so many times I have to search for any spot outside to pee, but it is much harder for us girls to squat and not been caught. Me personaly, I am very shy to pee outside in front people that is very embarrassing for me if I have to pee in front of somebody (especially in front of guy), so if bathroom isn't reachable I search for any private place to pee.
And like some gilrs said, it also happened to me to wet myself because I couldn't squat anywhere to pee it is very embarrassing |

| It's nothing to be shy about, Andrea. Nearly everyone has to pee sometime or other when a toilet isn't imediately to hand. It's one of those things that some people are, by nature and inclination, more open about than others. |

| Andrea83. With every respect to you it's a subject that I understand very well indeed. In fact, without blowing my own trumpet too loudly, I'd go so far as to say that what I don't know about it probably isn't worth knowing. |

Hia folks
Interesting subject.
Recently on a 40 min car journey to Birmingham I became quite desparate for a pee, nearly had to stop + use a public loo, but decided to hang on til I got there. When we parked the nearest loo was inside the ICC so with my hubby + kids in tow, I dashed inside and eventually found a ladies loo, so I quickly went with a big "ahhhhhhhhh"
When I came out, this black security guard stopped me, said these toilets were for "delegates only" but I told him I was very sorry but I had been in agony!
Shoulda seen his face |
