I have a new Toshiba laptop. Everything is installed for sound but barely any comes out. The mute is not on and the computer came with SRS TruSurround XT but there is practically nothing. I have the speaker volume up high, too.

Start> Settings> Control Panel> Sound... Is the main volume at max?..

Is there a volume control on the speakers?..

If accessory speakers, are they plugged into power?..

Are the wires OK?..

Are the sockets wires OK?..

Have you re-installed the sound drivers?..

Are they proper sound drivers?..

Is the sound card loose in its socket?..

Is it a good sound card?..

Is the sound card matched to the motherboard?..

Did the computer ever get wet?..

Did the speakers ever get wet?..

If you lightly tap the PC, do the sound's properties change?.. (that would probably be a faulty IC chip, or a chip slightly out of its socket, or a bad solder connection...

If it's brand new, return it to the seller for replacement or refund...

Fixed! Very Happy

Just some advanced settings needed attention. A co-worker helped me out. Thanks to the sole person who replied though.
