Just excelled myself today.

Put a load of apples and blackberries in the preserving pan, put it on the hob, turned the gas on, and came up here for a "quick look on FF" while it came to the boil.

Forgot all about it .... just been down to find it had boiled over all over teh place (but fortunately NOT put the gas out ...)
