Hi girls!!! Glad to hear some updates!!!! Laughing

So that is it now...am finally on maternity leave, and a lady of leisure!!! On the home stretch now, and can't wait for baby to be here. The nesting instinct has well and truly kicked in, and my home has never been so clean!!!

Not sleeping due to regular braxton hicks (have been getting them since 19 weeks) and now they get stronger, and last for about a minute, but are not painful. Peeing ALL of the time, and have stretching pains across the bottom of my bump where I think baby has dropped. Seeing midwife tomorrow, and hoping she'll tell me the head has engaged, but you never know!!! Bouncing on my ball, taking rasperry leaf tea tablets, and my iron tablets..really want spicy food (currys as of next weekend) and walking, walkin, walking everywhere! Just waiting impatiently for baby now!! Laughing The nursery is done, and looks so cute! Cool Laughing

How are you all doing? Any updates form Cheryle, or Ziggy? Thinking of you all!

Am planning a domino delivery (Keep thinking Dominoes delivery....Mmmmmmmm...chicken fajita pizza) which means that I want to stay at home for as long as poss, take some Paracetamol, get in the bath, call mu midwife (one of my best mates) when waters have broken, or contractions are three in 10 minutes, and then nip into hospital, pop baby out, and come home again a few hours later! That is the PLAN, anyway!!! Looking forward to labour, and the birth, and really want long-awaitd baby to be here safe and sound, for cuddles!!! So...will let you know if anything exciting happens! Razz

Hope you are all feeling fab xxxxxxxx

Congrats on the maternity leave ODN!!! I can't believe you're on the home stretch now!! Hopefully your plan will work out... it sounds good to me and hope your little one agrees with it Wink (my plan didn't work at all!) Wish you all the very best as your due date gets closer... I can hardly wait!!! Very Happy

We just got back from visiting my family in Canada (we were there 4 weeks!) It was so great to see my mom and my sisters again (as well as the rest of the family). Everyone loved getting to know Niklas. He's almost 8 months old now! I'm still exclusively breastfeeding which some people try to give me a hard time about but I think I made the right decision. We'll be starting a bit of vegies probably in the next week or two once he's completely used to time change and being back in Germany. I have tons of pics from our holidays uploaded in my Picasa Albums (a link to them is on my blog).

Wave Cheryle....cannot believe Niklas is 8 months old already! I remember when you told us you got your BFP!!! Ohhhh...I bet Canada was amazing! Where abouts did you visit, and was that where you used to live? Oh...could do with a trip there about now, to while away the last few weeks.

My friend has just moved to Edmonton, so hoping to go and see her there in the future. I told her about the tour we did, she said it sounded amazing, booked up the same trip, and decided that she wanted to live out there, she loved it so much. She is only 22, has no ties, and just upped and left - she's very brave, and I really admire her for it! She's hoping to become a Mountie! Laughing

I am fully aware of the likelihood of the "Plan" going tits up Shocked so prefer to live in denial, and keep thinking that positive thinking may be the key! Laughing Cool Seriously, I kind of think what will be, will be! I am certainly not opposed to pain relief, and I just want to do what is best for baby! I am really looking forward to labour (Niaeve first-time Mum talking!) I just want to think that whatever happens, within 24 hours of starting labour (hopefully!) I will be holding my baby finally, and try to focus on that! Well....I will wait and see Laughing

Good to hear from you...am just off to have a look at your new pics! Take care xxxxxxxxx Group Hug

Thanks ODN! My family all lives in Vancouver area.. I wish it were east coast instead of west coast, it would be easier to get to from Europe!

I'll keep everything crossed that as much of your plan as possible will actually happen. Each of my births were totally different than what I was actually expecting. I understand you looking forward to labour. I think that's normal at the end of the pregnancy. Throughout the whole pregnancy, it's hard to think that you'll actually want it to happen but when you're ready, then you do! I'm also discovering with my oldest son a wierd similiar phenomenon. I never thought I'd be ready for my kids to ever move out and now that he's an adult, I'm actually almost getting to the point of looking forward to him moving out Embarassed I love him very much, but sometimes it just feels like too many adults are living here right now!

If you remember, I was on here alot when I went on maternity leave and was getting really impatient...I'm going to try and find the post... then I remember waiting for Cherye and now you....where did all that time go? Alexander is coming up to 18 months, Niklas is 8 months! Shocked
I am so lookng forward to your birth post Very Happy I have a friend who had two brilliant births, she was made to have babies...they popped out without any fuss. Some ladies are lucky and have wonderful births, so here's hoping you are one of those ladies Very Happy

BTW - Statrt of maternity leave - This is where you get really pregnant fat! hehehe

Cherye, wow Niklas is looking like a baby model, what wonderful pictures. I bet you can't believe like me how time has flown by. As for breastfeeding...well done to you, I know so many woman who have breastfed for a year and over. It'a your decision, I think that anyone who makes a judgement is usually jealous...you keep going, it's right for you and it's right for Niklas. I only lasted 2 months... Crying or Very sad I regret giving up.

I will try and get some photo's on soon...right off to find that post...

We were all there, encourging, all excited...then I went quiet....hehehe...and then my birth announcement was made...a baby boy. Reading the post has brought back all the memories, I will have to print it off to keep for my memory box for Alexander.

Keep us up-to-date ODN I will check in regulary now Very Happy

Hi Ambers Wave Stop it, you're making me excited!!!

Ohhh...does it bring back all the memories? Big Hug

That's a good idea about memory box....may do that too! Bump up your post, bump up your post....I want to read it too!!! Had a quick squiz, but couldn't find it. Cannot believe Alexander is 18 months old already!!! Whoa...he's a little man! Cool

Have just seen midwife, and all is well. Baby's head is just "on the brim" which means not engaged, but just about to be...not sure whether to get excited about that or not! Confused She said that it can take days as first baby kind of nuzzles its way into the pelvic cavity, so have got to see her again in 2 weeks. Seems like ages away yet! Wink

May get Mr ODN's space hopper out, and go nuts!!! I'm so darned impatient! Laughing Also will try to stop that pregnant fat! I am like a dustbin with the amount of rubbish I want! What is it with French Fancies? Seriously could eat a box in one go! What?....baby wants it!!! Laughing Ohhhhh.....speaking of which..... Rolling Eyes xxx

Ziggy- where are you???? Hope you're doing good!!!

ODN- I'll also be checking in more regularly for updates... this last stage is so exciting!!!! Very Happy Go eat what you want!!! This will be your last chance of doing that without feeling guilty about it!!!

ODN... how exciting! I cant imagine what it must be like to be so close to meeting your little one, I feel like I'm creeping to halfway... feels like ive been pregnant for ages already.

We have finally found a house (not a flat whooo!) on a nice estate with a lovely south facing garden, close to the train station for TR's commute and close to my work and town too, paid the deposit today so fingers crossed that everything goes through ok. We get the keys the last week in august, cant wait to get moved in and settled down!

Natalie- Wow! You're 20 weeks already! Good luck with your scan and please let us know what the results are! I freaked out with each scan thinking the doctor would be bringing "bad news" to me... I think that's fully normal. Also the symptoms and stretching and everything else come and go, but I know how I worried each time something new showed up and each time something would disapear for a bit... it's so hard for us Mommies and our S/O's are not always understanding. It's good you're going in for a scan and it will be re-assuring to hear that everything's perfect!!

TRSGIRL- Congrats on finding a flat!

Amber- I loved re-reading your post! I just checked and I didn't actually post a new thread with my pregnancy or approaching labour, but I did find this:

Thanks for all your congratulations! I'm still a bit in shock with seeing that pink line and can hardly wait to test again tomorrow to make sure it's still there!!! Pray

My husband knows. He got woken up at 4am by a very excited woman Wink After getting me to calm down a bit, he looked at the test too and confirmed that there was a line! He's also very happy about it, but trying to contain it. He was more excited when I got pregnant last October. It's funny, I felt wierd about that pregnancy from the very beginning... it kept telling him not to get excited because anything could happen and sure enough I lost it. This time, he's the one trying to calm me down and say it's too early to get excited about it... he compares it to applying for a fantastic job... we've been invited for an interview, but don't know yet whether we'll actually get the job Wink I feel completely different about this pregnancy than the last one. I realise it's super early and anything could happen yet BUT I had a gut feeling that I was pregnant and I have a really good feeling about this time. That's really wierd because I was sure I'd be terrified if I actually found out I was pregnant again!!

The fertility tea and the chasteberry have done a fantastic job for me Wink I'm also going to start using the natural progesterone cream that I've stocked up on. I won't go to the doctor till almost 6 weeks. She can't do anything for me anyways. I've got enough experience with pregnancies that I know what to watch out for and the blood testing to check the levels only makes me nervous (since you can't do anthing if they're bad anyways!) By 6 weeks, she'll be able to get a heartbeat on the ultrasound and that's what I want to see!!!!!!!

Sorry that I just wrote a novel... my husband was complaining at 4am that I couldn't stop talking so that he could go back to sleep and now I can't stop typing..... I'm just so excited girls!!! Hurry up and join me so we can make a pregnancy club!!! BFPs for everyone!!!! Start dreaming some more ODN!!!!! Very Happy

reading that just cracked me up!! And then as I was approaching labour, I was doing updates in this thread starting about here:
