Rudy's OK, although I hate that he's so anti-Gun. |
Don't worry, he won't be if he becomes President. |

| Well, if Rudy becomes pres, I'm pretty sure that gun laws for the most part will remain unchanged, with the preliminary gun control policies being left up to the state governments. No man who wishes to be president is going to be able to get away with too tight of a gun control in the red states. |

And what "big hits" would that be, TG? Or were you just looking for an opportunity to say "c0ck up the ass?"

Lena, I see your posts hon. You're concerned about illegal immigration, right? Do you think either of those two will do a damn thing about it? |

Well, Obama has voted for the Secure Fence Act. So, while he might not be a hardline "get rid of immigrants" kinda guy, it does seem like he supports any effort to root out illegal immigrants from crossing borders.
It has also been noted that he "will not support any bill that does not provide [an] earned path to citizenship for the undocumented population" though, so it seems that he's not about to support deporting every last undocumented immigrant in this country. (from here) |

But its not like Bush has either.
Don't get me wrong, I like what bush has done, but he's completely screwed up illegal immigration. |

| I honestly don't think any president in the near future is going to have the guts to raise $200 billion and deport these criminals. |

There's one other problem with Obama that may seem superficial to some, especially to people outside the United States: his middle name is Hussein.
Although a middle name is unquestionably superficial, I believe that particular middle name would cost Obama as much as 5% of the vote in the Presidential election. Such a loss would render his candidacy a nonstarter. There are that many American voters (and not only Republicans) who cannot imagine someone with the middle name Hussein in the White House. Only Osama and Adolf are worse.
His middle name has not been raised thus far. It may not even come up in the Democratic primaries. If Hillary is blamed for bringing it up, she risks alienating a substantial enough number of black voters to render her candidacy in the Presidential election a nonstarter as well.
You may rest assured, however, that the Republican candidate, whoever it may be, will directly or indirectly bring it up -- particularly given that Obama has been vocal in opposition to the war in Iraq. And Obama didn't help himself with his recent faux pas when he said that American lives lost in Iraq have been "wasted." Oops, there goes the military vote.
I'm not saying it's right that his middle name will be held against him; I'm only saying that it definitely will be. |

meh, but really, Myron, that's just how the game is played.
Hell, if Bush had bad SAT scores you can bet somebody would have probably brought that up at some point. |
