I've heard that sleeping on your back during pregnancy isn't so good as the weight of the uterus can press down on the blood vessels that are supplying the placenta with blood. It's better to lie on your left side with a pillow or blanket supporting your stomach.

If you lie flat the weight of your bump presses on your main vessels and can cut off blood supply making you feel faint,or even pass out. It's best to lie slightly propped up if you're on your back. It doesn't really matter if you lie on your back or side, lie however you feel comfiest. The pillow between your legs and/or supporting your bump is a good idea though.

you shouldnt sleep on your back, on your side is best, but by the third trimester you cant even sleep in one position for more than 10 minutes Laughing

I'm 26 weeks and can still sleep on my stomach but slightly to the side with my leg raised a bit so I'm not flat on my belly. This is the only way I find comfortable to sleep. I get terrible pain in my hips if I lay on my side for too long and I get dizzy on my back.
