I for one think it is a disgrace that the MOD have stopped Harry going to Iraq. All the royals have gone and why the heck should he be treated any different. I know it will be more of a threat to his regiment and that but hey if they had no intentions of letting him on the front line why the hell did they let him join and spend all this time training?

He should be allowed to go but undercover and nobody should know his where abouts.

What are your views?

It's too dangerous. Both for him and the people who will be serving alongside him. Let's get some perspective - 3rd in line to the throne. It's too much risk. Imagine if he got caught and used as a bargaining tool?

It puts everybody in a difficult position.

I would not want my son serving in the same regiment as Harry if he was sent out there, it would put him in even more danger as Harry would be a target of terrorism in the dirty war that it is !
Silly idea I know that he reportedly wants to go out there and do his bit but he has to realise that it would just be too dangerous for all his comarades.
Bring them all home I say !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!, it is a war that cant be won so what is the point.
In my opinion it is all about oil, where were the Americans when the Rhwanda issue was going on???????????
Might have something to do with the fact that there is no oil in Rhwanda!!!!!!!

Good on the kid for wanting to go....he's got more balls than most of us!!!

However, he shouldn't go due to the fact that he has men underneath him. There is no way that they should be put in any more danger than is necessary.

Someone said previously though, it is pointless him joining if he was never going to be allowed to fight.

Yes indeed imagine the line - We don't negotiate with terrorists - can't see that holding any water - still surely they needn't release that information in the first place on the grounds of 'National Security'

Lucky he didn't go really - I mean 3rd in line to the throne serving as a mercenary for American Corporations - guess it would show how f*cked this country is!

And yet forgive me people - this seems to be a bit of a game - wonder if there was any intention for him to go? Forgive my cynicism but I wonder with anything which goes on with the Royal family is motivated not by the wishes of those involved - more a sense of it being a PR or dare we say an exercise in Spin. I mean people imagine how a serving Royal may just lend legitimacy and glamour to a dubious and dirty war!

I would wonder if those making the decision were the same people (Group) who made the decision for us to go to war in the first place - I mean didn't we do this to DEFEND the country (45 mins and all that). Now I know they change their minds every five minutes about the whole point of the war but if the threat is so acute - surely it is better and a right (If not Duty) for Harry to defend his manor.

Perhaps if it is really such an epic CLASH of CIVILISATIONS an extra man (Of such exceptional calibre) could make all the difference.

I reckon Harry should stand his ground and abdicate his position take on a new name - and go out and kick some fundemental butt (Perhaps that would encourage) Blair and Bush etc to get their Kids out - It would then mean something - I would then believe Harry has got BIG BALLS!

Yeah they cant send him to Iraq, I mean really he is Prince Harry. And I dont think putting all the other soldiers at risk is worth while, especially for such an un worthy cause.

He's not going because the media made a big deal about him going. The papers have no business reporting the movements of individual troops. I feel that they tried to turn him into a target, because if anything did happen to him it would be big news, and that's all the news media care about.

Everyone in the army should be treated the same, if regular everyday men & women are allowed to put their lives on the line then he should be able to.
