At University, not so long ago, a FEMALE student stated something I have long suspected.

She believed that while there was not an all-consuming hatred of men, there was an underlying resentment amongst many of the female sex that almost all of the world changing events/inventions have been inspired/initiated by men.

Technological miracles such as TV, telephone, radio, computers, cars, aeroplanes, life-saving hospital equipment - all things vital to a modern world - are the result of mens' genius.

The houses we live in, the offices we work in, the roads we use to get between the two - again men we have to thank.

Gas, Oil, electricity, clean drinking water, a seweridge system - without which we would still be living in the dark ages - yes thats right, it's men putting their lives at risk to provide.

Yet is there an ounce of gratitude on the part of women for the sacrifices endured by the male sex in creating this modern world ?

No, just resentment at the thought that this somehow endows men with an underlying sense of superiority.

Of course that resentment doesn't prevent women from happily making full use of all the modern miracles that men have provided for them.

Guest - you are really offensive, you know that?

Instead of jsut abusing me, why don't you address my comment? For your information, before posting I DID think. I read through the whole thread up to the point where the original poster revealed her sex, and I looked for aggressive anti-male comments such as you claimed existed there.

And you know what? I didn't find any.

Perhaps we come to this with different perceptions. If so, the way to take the discussion forward is to make sure we're both talking abotu the same thing. Otherwise we're liable to be at cross-purposes, don't you think?

So why don't you make a post QUOTING the comment(s) form teh first page that you consider to be displaying a

a nakedly aggressive, anti-male attitude

Then we'll all know which comments you're actually talkign about, which will be a start.

Question

You have not been to the moon.

You have not invented radio.

You have not invented TV.

You have not invented the computer.

You have not invented the telephone.

Every single thing that is already invented cannot be invented by you because it is already done

You are not a prime minister or a king or queen.

You quote the achievements of great men as if you have a share in them.

I am not sure who said it but it might have been Marcus Aurelius or St Augustine.

"It is nice to have great ancestors but the glory is theirs not yours."

If you are so superior why can you not do it quietly?

Is god helping you with your invention and will she be named on the patent application?

my point is you quote the achievements of men implying that somehow women are inferior but you convenioently forget that women have just this century won the right to vote, that women have been discriminated against systematically throughout history, that girls still to this day are denied an education in some middle eastern countries because of backward sexist misogynist attitudes.

If men had been so held back then where would be their acievements today?

is it any F****** wonder girlks are realising that their enemy is the male ego and its all consuming desire to dominate. the arrogance an dshort sightedness of your post is pathetic

Human ideas and ideals are highly guarded and protected. It would take much more than even 1 Million comments to change anyone's mind, once set.

Even if people are completely wrong, they will only believe what they choose to believe (or not to believe).
Commenting, arguing and name-calling achieves nothing what-so-ever!

I choose to believe that Homosexuality is a genetic malfunction or mutational gene, which will be corrected by medical science some day. No-one will ever convince me that the thus afflicted, won't jump at that chance to be a normal hetrosexual or that mothers of their unborne won't safe guard their child again this condition.

I agree that name-calling achieves nothing, GG, but I think you take a rather dim view of humanity of you think that rational argument is incapable of swaying people from opinins, even firmly held ones.

I believe it to be otherwise. In fact, I KNOW it to be otherwise, because I have done it. And right here, on this site, too.

I also think your belief that homosexuality is an "affliction" which will, one day, be susceptible to a medical cure is, perhaps, a tad heterocentric in outlook. Even if you are right that doctors may one day be able to "cure" it - what makes you so sure that homosexuals will wish to be "cured"?

Do you not think that the average homosexual isn't perfectly content with him or herself, the was he or she is?

Do you REALLY believe that the only valid position in this debate is the one which you happen to hold (and from which no amount of sound logic to the contrary will, by your own admission, ever sway you)?

Gay and Prouds response is nonsensical.

An incoherent rant fuelled by anti-male deep-seated resentment.

At no time did I state that I had invented all the things that make life worth living - and females take advantage of - it was a FEMALE student who pointed it out that it is MEN you have to thank - but of course you don't.

Hey some more men died on a oil rig the other day but so what - what do women care. Turn the central heating up love.

At no time either did I claim it makes ME superior.

Look forward to your response on a computer you have a man to thank for !

Mothers, especially dominant ones, are a known cause of homosexuality or female tendencies in men!

Animals can be gay too, even in 'All Creatures Great and Small', which was set originally in the 1930's, there was a story of a male horse that wouldn't mate, it prefered male horses to female ones...

I've had a sex with both males and females (three male, two female) and though I prefer men, I won't have anyone question me on my past choices. It was just that, my choice. I've been with me current partner for nearly 5 years.

Homosexuality, lesbainsm etc is big business, and I can't see anyone tampering with Mrs Nature, that in itself can be classed as a crime against humanity and someones rights. Babies, unborn or otherwise have rights too!

Jails are filling up with hetrosexual child killers, I can't off hand remember reading of a gay man murdering a child, or a lesbian doing the same.

You want your way, but won't let others have theirs?

I'm too tired to check through all the posts on this topic, so forgive me if I'm repeating something already mentioned, but how can you hate lesbians, but not mind bi-sexual women! They have sex with women too!

Let me know if have missed something. I'm off to bed now, my boyfriend is working a nightshift, before I go to sleep I'll think of the days I was shagged silly by Gill and later in another relationship by Debbie if thats ok with you Razz

Debbie and I are still close friends, you never know, maybe for old times sake we might indulge again. Rolling Eyes And yes my dearly beloved knows about it and it doesn't phase him.

If I may attempt an uninvited answer--
I get the implication that the lesbians she is familiar with are what Rush Limbaugh refers to as "FemiNazis", e.g. militantly anti male, militantly pro-female, and militantly pro-lesbian. I don't think that having sex with women is, at least directly, involved in her reasoning--she doesn't associate bisexual women as being particularly involved with "bitching", "politics", or "cliques". Not to mention "stupidity". Angel
