Only a few more days before we can rejoice in the fact that money grabbing schemer Mills will disappear of our news screens, tv screens, newspapers, and magazine covers for good. (cheers in anticipation). Having settled the case followed by a High Court rant, just an appeal over the detail then its back to obscurity after her ten minutes of obscenely high paid fame… Goodbye and good riddance
Apart from that the headlines as usual are dominated by Britney Spears, this time with Mel Gibson,Mariah Carey.. any chance to promote her new album, and shock horror Paula Abdul has a crush on Simon Cowell.

Paris Hilton seeks a a new best friend.
MTV sent out an email today inviting the media to a “very special press conference” with the hotel heiress tomorrow at a Hollywood Hills mansion.
And that’s all MTV and Hilton’s reps would reveal. However, I’m told Ms. Hilton will officially announce the launch of her new reality show in which she searches for a new best friend.
The mansion tomorrow will be a pink mansion. “Imagine if Paris had her own sorority house,” a source said. Hilton fans have also been invited to the mansion, where they will be able to apply to be on the show.

The fate of the Oscars ceremony is still up in the air, but that doesn’t mean producer Gil Cates & Co. has stopped working to put a show together.
So much so that I’m told requests have gone out to potential presenters. A well-placed source reports that Cameron Diaz is one of the first—if not the first—to sign on as a presenter.
“Not confirming anything,†Diaz’s rep said in an email. “Any conversations about the Oscars are contingent upon the status of the strike.”
It would be Diaz’s fifth time as a presenter at the Academy Awards.
While Cates hasn’t revealed any backup plans if the Writers Guild pickets the 80th annual awards gala on Feb. 24—many big-name celebs like George Clooney have said they will not cross the picket line—I’m told the mood at the Academy is upbeat, and they’re optimistic they won’t be left with a Golden Globes-like fiasco
